Politics / Re: Rufai Oseni's 8 Questions About The Coastal Road Project. by Faposky95: 6:13pm On May 04
emkz:
Rufai claims there were 57 active businesses that were impacted. Since he is now the mouthpiece of those businesses, can he list them?

As far as September 2023, talks began with HiTech on the project, where was Rufai Oseni? Why didn't he raise the alarm then, WHY NOW?

While raising the question about Landmark properties and alignment, Rufai Oseni refused to admit whether Landmark violated the right of way. He also did not state whether Landmark illegally utilized the asset in question. He also did not address the fact that only a marginal portion of Landmark was affected.

When the initial propaganda failed, they shifted to EIA and EISA. The Ministry of Environment already said they issued a waiver. But Rufai Oseni, who requested access to the audited books of someone's private enterprise, is not satisfied.

He also claims the owner of HiTech is Tinubu's personal friend. Does he want us to discuss his boss' personal friends and associates? Did they not give media protection to Emefiele, Okowa, PDP and Atiku? If they didn't, why were they hell bent on humiliating Tinubu with their boss even writing to accuse Tinubu of Noriega moment. If there was no personal or business interest for them, why did they take it so personal?

Then they accused the minister of staying in Eko Hotel and Suites; what has that got to do with anything?

On the surface, Rufai Oseni and Arise News have serious questions; but the questions are not balanced, because they have not asked Landmark questions. They have clearly taken a side and they are fighting for either personal or business interests. Yesterday, it became clear when they interviewed a former Commissioner of Police. The conversation was accusatory and not intermediatory. Answers provided by the government are never acceptable to them, but they believe everything the Landmark CEO says.

Rufai Oseni, you claim to fact check everything. Please fact-check whether Landmark rightfully owned that land and whether he was cleared to build there.

One more point to make: you claim there was no stakeholder engagement before demolition. David Umahi sat down in your studio to say that he met with the CEO of Landmark and that they adjusted their plans to spare his properties. You also asked why properties not previously marked for demolition and outside the right
of way were demolished. As a journalist, you ought to be aware that notices of demolition were sent to all affected parties and they complied.

How come only Landmark is complaining?

What is Arise News/Rufai Oseni's personal/business interest here?

PS: When a former editor and a firmer executive director of PUNCH newspapers had a fight over one of them allegedly collecting millions of naira from corrupt politicians and businessmen to give them positive press coverage and kill negative stories, both of them were forced out of the media house. It became clear that some journalists used the media to promote personal and business interests. So if you see any media house seemingly pursuing or protecting someone's business interest, even at the expense of the public good, money is involved.

How come Channels TV, NTA, TVC or AIT are not fighting or protecting any interests? Why certain journalists from certain media houses?

Rufai Oseni asked to see the acvohnt statements of someone's private business. Can Rufai Oseni publish his own accpunt statements so we are convinced he did not receive a PR contract to use his platform to demarket the coastal road project

Same thing was asked Fela, Gani and co.......

... he's at his job.....

Family / Re: I Cheated-my Marriage Is Falling Apart by Faposky95: 5:05pm On May 04
Jaycobbs:
She called your family, friends, colleagues... you'll never be able to win back the trust you lost. Even if you do, it won't be at the same level.

One very big issue staring you in the face is the long distance relationship you're having with your lawfully wedded wife. Either quit the job and find one closer to home, or arrange for your wife to live with you in the new location permanently, or for as long as the job requires.

Newlywed couple, y'all need to be spending as much time together as possible.

If your wife was around, you wouldn't have fallen into that trap. Make the move and make arrangements to always be together with your wife, show her your actions and she'll see you're serious about avoiding future temptations.

It won't be easy, but it's a first step.

If you're going to step out on your wife, at least do it with someone decent. I'm not condoning adultery, but nigga, if you missed the red flags in this your new side piece, then juggling multiple women is not for you because they'll probably both connive to kill you. You're better off remaining faithful to the Mrs.

"You got high"... Lol. Bro, is this the example you want to set for your kids? I don't know what got you high but as you can see, it probably doesn't have good effects, so maybe you should FVCKING GET RID OF THAT? I dunno.

You'll need to do a lot of begging. And the people who could have helped you might already be disappointed, so you may have to do most of the shii on your own. If you want her back, be ready to crawl.

There'll probably be lots of gifts, long talks, missed calls, and spending involved

Oh, and if she decides to revenge by cheating on you (who knows maybe you missed that red flag in your wife too), then don't complain because you set the ball rolling yourself.

Look for a male figure in her life she respects (pastor or something) and get them to set a meeting where you both talk.

If you want more couple's therapy, hmu.

If, against all odds, you're able to fix this, then keep your pants zipped, keep constant communication with your wife regardless of distance (you should make time to have at least thirty minutes to an hour of flirty, dirty conversation with your wife every day if you're separated by distance. This should keep the sexual spark in your marriage going), take steps to rid your mindset of cheating, and set up time to go for therapy with her to rebuild that trust you just casually threw away.

You'll die of the shame or you'll die off its cancer.....or you could forgive yourself and win what matters to you......

Almunjid:

There's a glimmer of hope for Nigeria's future, with each of us on a path to achieve what we're meant to be. Yet, our progress is hampered by widespread "greed" and "selfishness". For real advancement, we need to bring in experts and technocrats to lead, not just politicians like Tinubu, Atiku, Peter Obi etc.

Let's consider a shift to a governance system that only maintains "Representatives" (scraping governors and presidents), where only the most qualified individuals serve as commissioners, ministers and other key officials, similar to how we select foreign coaches for their expertise in football. Our "elected" members of House of Representatives would oversee and protect our interests, ensuring that those with technical expertise cannot exploit our resources for personal gain. Those Reps will do well in protecting our resources from being exploited by foreign technocrats but can't do nothing to protect themselves from stealing from it.

The challenge we face is not a lack of talent; our continent is home to some of the most brilliant minds, it's just that we're very bad at "leadership" due to our pervasive culture of greed and self-interest. All the leaders we have been voting for (including their commissioners and ministers) have been more concerned with securing their children’s futures than with building a nation for all.

Peace!

Zxcvbnmghtr:
While over 120% new ones have sprang up. Same with detergents, stationary and many more. Competition by younger generation of business minds have chased out the older ones who are very much monopoly inclined. If you know anybody who is into provision business you will see this very clearly. In the past, there are very, very little varieties of biscuits, but today. THEY ARE UNCOUNTABLE.

Again, Soya beans farmers are becoming richer and richer because the demand for their Soya beans by these biscuit factories is so high. So high that they hardly meet their demand. Which is one of the reasons why lots farmers are not so much into planting food crops in recent times but cash cross which fetches them quick money. The old biscuit factories have been replaced by modern ones run by new ideas and innovations.

I have a question....
If more and better innovation has come to replace the old......where are the visible gains....

He's very right. Aside like four of them, the rest aren't doing anything worth mentioning. Maybe they are working underground, so we plead they propagate their doings if there's any.

Aside Cardoso, Wike, Umahi, Tunji-Ojo, then maybe Keyamo, other are just wasting space. Wale Edun fall my hand seriously.

The shameful part is that this administration gave more slots to women than previous ones but they've been disappointing all round. There's no woman minister whose performance is top notch like the men I listed. These are the set of folks that have been crying about inclusion and marginalization. What a pity! Betta Edu would have been among the ministerial gladiators, but she go pour sand into her own garri.

When is Bala Usman going to finish cooking the assessment program she was instructed to design? We need fresh blood in the cabinet during the second year of this tenure.

People like Oyetola should never get near the presidential cabinet or be given any political position ever again until his last breath. Very shameful man - he just brought disgrace to the South West. Bayo Adelabu should go too - we can't afford to have incompetent hands leading a critical sector like Power.

Selecting ministers across the 36 states of the country is Herculean task, but that's not to say Tinubu has no fault - his ministers' mess are his too. Ruling your own state is very different from ruling the entire nation. I just hope great thought, research, and energy is invested into the next selection process. He might have give the middle finger to political vultures from the various regions to get competent hands.

Imagine if Oyetola had won Osun again.....?!

Borrowing is never going to stop, because the alternatives is government using the tax weapon..ie taxing the majority that do not pay tax to federal and state government...which is damne unpopular, and would cause issues

OIl money is not enough either. We had a sustained period of low oil prices from 2014 to 21, then a short period of high prices, then low oil prices again. Nigeria needs oil above 100 dollars at least.

The low oil meant our debt rose due to the resultant drop in income. That means more loans.

If the current government had not partially removed subsides, it would have been much worse...because by 2022, we were paying almost all our revenue on debt servicing.

SO, ways and means. And the harsh fact is, we do have a corruption and poor accountability problem, but...hereis the scary thing, should we fix that...and we need to fix it, it won't improve our income.

And if you think Obi would have saved the day, sorry. He would have done exactly the same thing. As would have atiku....because Nigerian politicans don't want to tell people there isn't enough money. Which is why apc is borrowing, and why Buhari also borrowed before tinubu. They don't want to be honest, and tell Nigerians there is no money, and institute things like total removal of subsides, a programm of industrialization, making states earn their money, and really fighting corruption...because it is much easier to spend more money and take more loans.

Nigeria has a problem, and really it is refusal to face reality.

Don't think you hit it when you put PO in there.

Many feard dead.

May none be confirmed dead.

Possible Causes of the Explosion:
1.
Substandard tanker bucket.

2.
Badly-refined oil.

3.
Carelessness during transportation.

4.
Bad road.

5.
There are many victims of this particular explosion, probably because people gathered instead of running away.

I am tempted to believe that Nigeria is the most careless and lawless country in Africa. I think that things like tanker explosions and road accidents happen more in Nigeria than in other African countries. In Nigeria, tankers use dented or leaking buckets to transport inflammable substance. People smoke near tankers. Filling stations are built near residential homes where people cook and burn things.

As much as avoidable death dey this land ehhhnnn
