It's time to take off the gloves and fight. When tinubu, a Muslim, chose another Muslim in shetima to deputies, "the turn of a Christian deputy" didn't stop his victory. Obi should work with a strong northerner in 2027 and run afterwards.

The North have ruled Nigeria more than any region since creation. In a bid to unite the South and put a stop to the BORN-TO-RULE mentality, I think Peter OBI should jettison the idea of contesting the 2027 election and fully support the re-election of President Tinubu. All the past political grievances between the SE and SW should be forgotten as Obi has the opportunity to put Nigeria back on track.

If Obi tows this route, not only will he repair the long political dispute between SW/SE, but also forge a dynamic imbalance and let the North understand that Nigeria is for Everyone.

It might sound unrealistic given the unmarketable performance of Tinubu, but it will send a clear political statement to the North that Northern hegemony in the Nigerian political space has ended.

Why should the North always use some Southern politicians to form a coalition once they are out of power?
* No coalition was formed against Yaradua (but, once GEJ became president they used Southern politicians to achieve their aim - Buhari).
* Buhari destroyed the economic fabrics of Nigeria and brought in fulanis in droves into the South to massacre and destroy farmlands, but NO COALITION was formed to remove him after his 1st term.
SUDDENLY THE NORTH IS BLEEDING FROM THE SH.THOLE TO REMOVE TINUBU AFTER ONE TERM IN OFFICE, JUST TO RETURN POWER TO THE NORTH FOR atiku.

If Atiku so loves Nigeria he should allign behind Obi and play the role of a godfather and the nature of politics everyone would understand if he gets to have a say in some Obi's appointments.That's the price every politician must be ready to pay if you must wrestle power,ready to dine and concede some posts to someone you wouldn't ordinary want to.
Atiku doesn't have a path to the presidency:he would lose the entire SE to Obi,even if he makes the fatal mistake of being his vice;he would lose Lagos,Abuja,Kano,Katsina,the entire NE and almost the entire SW now that Adeleke wants to port and Oyo governor has his own ambitions.
Wike would easily rig him out of the core SS states of Rivers,Delta and Akwa Ibom with massive margins.So where will he get the votes?
But here is Obi's path:the entire SE,at least half SS,including Rivers if Wike's rigging machine there can be stopped,viz Edo,Delta,Cross Rivers,maybe Akwa Ibom.

He wins Taraba,Benue,Nassarawa,Taraba,Plateau with significant votes in Kano,Kaduna.
The margin of Tinubu's victories in the SW states wiped out by those of Obi in SE.
So vote tallies would be tied,leaving the deciding states to be those of Katsina,Bauchi,Yobe,Borno, and this is where Atiku's support can tip the margins not for votes per se but to use his financial muscle to prevent manufacture of large margins in such states that would tip the election to Tinubu
Why would any reasonable person vote Atiku,the devil you don't know,in place of the devil you already know in Tinubu,if Obi is not on the ballot,knowing Atiku's path is almost non existent and his presidency risky?

Atiku is greedy at old age.
