This ‘friend’ of a word has to have been overused and/or is starting to lose value or I just never understood the word. Everyone you meet now wants to be referred to as friend. Even that one that doesn’t know more than to vibrate (PING) your phone only when he/she is in need of something and that would be the last time you hear from such person till another need arises. You know those waiting for you to change your dp on messaging apps? Waiting for you to be the first to initiate conversation… Nah, those ain't friends, are they? How did we get to the point of calling those friends? Please tell me.... Continue here nantygreens.com/the-friend-zone/ |
By Teehem Pointing has always been an invaluable skill/gift whichever way you may have it. If you disbelieve, check your Quran, bible or ask your Ifa/Agbala as it applies to you. Amean, having the power or the skill isn’t enough. After digesting this rant, you should never wonder anymore why footballers point in celebration at nothing in particular when they score/win or why your district Pastor keeps pointing when delivering his usual kini. Jesus pointed, remember? But that’s not all. I was not there when Mungo Park parked at the source of the Niger and realized his own ‘American Dream’. But I have an intelligent guess, He must have pointed. I know He did point at the first few slaves He took over there with him because (take good note of the following) my fore ancestors were among them. How do I know this? I feel a stirring in my breast whenever I relive the epic moment; in my dreams of course. It’s sad to say this art is fading into unpopularity. It’s tragic, to put it properly. Like how Adam ate the apple and put an end to global nudism. Tragic, man… I tells* you. [Continue here http://nantygreens.com/runt-rant/] |
I want to be a beautiful bird Precisely..Odidere Odidere and its flashing wonders With its garments of bright colours Then I shall call a show in the Sun And invite all other birds to the contest And Okin Okin with its feathers of pride And Ogongo Ogongo and its long feet And Adaba Adaba and its white clothe of serenity And Kowe Kowe the talkative bird I shall arraign them in a contest The most vibrant nightingale will get the prize And other birds shall serve your bird And Odidere sets the mark For other birds to run And Ogongo led the race Passing a mile in a go And Okin waddled pass Leaving its mark of beauty on the track And Kowe flied in thick wings Breaking the pole with beak so saucy [continue here http:///13H3NWo] |

This photograph was not taken in Nigeria…neither anywhere in Africa. Here's the story : I was out with my cousin having our usual late night stroll when we both stumbled upon this signage. You can imagine our reaction as Nigerians on seeing the great Nigerian legend's name up there and so we moved closer to look properly and clear any doubts that we saw something else. Awesome thinking by a filmmaker Jeremiah McDonald.... check it here http://nantygreens.com/man-converses-with-12-year-old-self/ |
Water roughly splashed across his face roused him. It took his eyes several minutes to adjust because they were hurting and his head was also pounding. He was still in the same alley but now had the unwanted company of all five of his assailants. Their leader judging by his bearing was an almost toothless heavyset man-ape, tattooed generously across the face with ancient Oyo tribal marks. He looked more burnt than black. Even in his dazed state, Fido concluded death would be scared of the man. “E joo sa…” {Sorry, sir…} Fido started to say. “Nomuba wan, mo hate ki eeyan ma pe mi ni sa” {number one, I hate people who address me as sir} the man said. …Fido raced on like a mad dog out of hell. it was one of those adrenalin controlled moments in ones’ life when the brain and its’ reasoning capabilities suddenly go on vacation or take a back seat and let reflex drive. There were four…no, five hefty guys on at his back and they were not about to ask for his autograph. He was no star, at least not today, maybe tomorrow. Sneaking a quick look back through his peripheral vision, he corrected his earlier judgment that the guys behind him were hefty. In all fairness, ‘immense’ was the correct word to adequately describe them. They were like moving houses; the kinds nobody could build where he lived. This has found a way of becoming the mantra in every female circle these days. There must have been some Big Sister (like Big Brother in ‘1984’ by George Orwell) instructing this. I must give a huge shout out to that girl (or was it a guy?) that thought of ‘Swags won’t pay the bills in 10 years’ ‘Boys have swag; Men got class’. Really if not for such brilliant minds, some of these girls wouldn’t have something to update their status about. read the rest here http:///aI1zkNHK |
