Sports / Brazil Vs Mexico: World Cup (2 - 0) On 2nd July 2018 by fikusjada: 1:18am On Jul 02, 2018
After they navigated their way to the summit of Group E at Russia 2018, Brazil’s mission will be to rectify their disappointing defeat at 2014 FIFA World Cup. Brazil played a draw with Switzerland in their opener and leaving it late to claim a 2-0 over Costa Rica, beating Serbia 2-0 to ultimately move on as expected group winners. As we can see Brazil’s journey has been anything but smooth until the Round of 16.

Mexico will need to answer one question: has their momentum going? They started off with two solid wins, a 1-0 victory over Germany, and then Mexico followed up with the defeat over Sweden with 3-0. They can still feel their confidence that they gained while playing in their most recent World Cup meeting with Brazil in 2014. They played a goalless draw in Fortaleza on June the 17th, which has been the only if the four encounters between the two sides that didn’t end in a Brazil victory.

Possible line-ups:

Brazil: Casemiro, Paulinho, Thiago Silva, Miranda, Filipe Luis, Fagner, Willian, Philippe Coutinho, Neymar, Gabriel Jesus, Alisson.

Mexico: Hector Herrera, Jonathan Dos Santos, Andres Guardado, Miguel Layun, Hugo Ayala, Carlos Salcedo, Jesus Gallardo, Carlos Vela, Javier Hernandez, Hirving Lozano, Guillermo Ochoa.

Belgium vs Tunisia Soccer Preview-Predictions

Belgium will look to secure their place in the knock out stages at this Cup coming off a convincing win of 3-0 over Panama in their opening match when they meet with the team of Tunisia in Moscow on Saturday. Romelu Lukaku is expected to play a big role for his team at Russia 2018. He is one of the most solid players that the Red Devils have.

After a defeat to England with 2-1, the Carthage Eagles, on the other hand, are looking to bounce after that opening match. The Tunisians will need so much more attacking skills and intents if they are to move beyond the group stage at these world finals. Between these two teams, this will be the second World Cup meeting after they have played out a 1-1 draw at Korea/Japan 2002.

Did you know that these countries have met three times? Tunisia won friendly in 1992, and then both teams played out a draw at the 2002 World Cup. Then Belgium claimed a victory in a friendly game in 2014.

Serbia vs Switzerland Soccer Preview-Predictions

Head-to-head in Kaliningrad on June 22nd in an all-European clash will come two confident and enticing teams. Serbia is so fresh after the win of a 1-0 win over Costa Rica, and they are now facing Switzerland team that held group favorites Brazil to a 1-1 draw.

Fully aware that Serbians have lost only twice in 13 matches against Swiss they know what is at stake and will certainly not be lacking for motivation.

A win would not fully guarantee Switzerland’s place in the second round, but the three points would see them take some decisive step towards achieving that aim. They are coming up against resolute opposition. Whenever the Helvetians have previously drawn their opening match at a World Cup, they ended up qualifying from their group in 1938, 1994 and 2006.

Did you know that Malden Krstajic, Serbia’s manager has happy moments of taking on Swiss as a player? Winning 59 caps for his country and have scored his first international goal against Die Nati in September 2001, during the campaign for qualification for the 2002 World Cup Korea/Japan. At that match, Yugoslavia won 2-1.

Sports / Denmark Vs Australia: World Cup (1 - 1) On 21st June 2018 by fikusjada: 8:39am On Jun 21, 2018
Denmark is the favorites in this vital Group C, but not so overwhelming. These nations, Denmark and Australia are with respectable FIFA World Cup traditions and everything points so far to a highly competitive match, desperate to write new, successful chapters in their world finals history books.

Australia needs to put points on the table, after their match with France, while Denmark is already motivated by the knowledge that three points could mean a spot in the knockout stage. The possibility of winning successive matches for a just second time in Denmark’s World Cup history is very high.

For Socceroos fans, there are a couple of moments in history that will make a pleasant reading. Bert van Marwijk, the coach of Australia and Age Hareide, the coach of Denmark met in 2008 when the former was in charge of Netherlands and Hareide has been leading his homeland Norway.

Did you know that Denmark in all competitions has been unbeaten for 16 games, nine wins and seven draws since a 1-0 defeat by Montenegro which happened in 2006, precisely October 11th. Better on unbeaten runs are only Spain with 21 and Belgium with 20.

IR Iran vs Spain Soccer Preview-Predictions

With three points under their belts, IR Iran is now at the top of Group B and is brimming with confidence. They did their homework while there was no doubt an element of luck about their late win against Morocco. But the team did exactly what was expected of them – and that’s to play with passion. From the draw to the opening match it was clear from the start that it would be hard for the Asian side to make it out of such a high-quality group.

Spain, the 2010 world champions pulled a 3-3 draw with Portugal, which was a spectacle worthy of a place in the World Cup history books, made a frantic start to the competition. They earned only a point for their exertions. Now the question is will Coach Fernando Hierro make changes for the second match? Well, he may not need to first of all by scoring a brace; Diego Costa showed that he belongs to the team’s system. All the players know their roles and positions very well with an customary ease. De Gea will be determined for sure not to concede three goals next time, and that’s something that captain Sergio Ramos would definitely support.

Portugal vs Morocco Soccer Preview-Predictions

Into the first fixture of Group B’s second round, there are some wildly contrasting feelings in the respective team camps. Portugal is on the ride with the crest of a Cristiano-shaped wave after their talisman of a player and their captain performed a historic hat-trick which helped his side claim a 3-3 draw against their neighbors, Spain.

And on the other hand, Morocco will be crestfallen after a late Bouhaddouz own goal that happened to the match ended 1-0 with a defeat in their first FIFA World Cup game for two decades against IR Iran. Yet, Morocco will be hoping of history repeating itself. Just twice in 14 World Cup games, the Atlas Lions have won across five tournaments (including Russia 2018 so far) and the first of those victories was in Mexico 1986 against the Portuguese.

Did you know that Karim El Ahmadi, Manuel De Costa, Mbark Boussoufa and Nabil Dirar were all less two years old at the time when Morocco won their first match at the World Cup finals against Portugal at Mexico 1986? They will likely not remember Abdelrazzak Khairi and Abdelkarim Krimau helping their nation to fabled 3-1 victory.

Poland vs Senegal Soccer Preview and Predictions

Senegal at their first ever FIFA World Cup in 2002, has defeated champions France in their Opening Match and they made it to the quarter-finals, before going down after the goal against Turkey. This team wrote a whole new chapter or better said wrote history for the country, as well for the new generations – featuring Sadio Mane. The captain Aliou Cisse, from 16 years ago from this team has gone to become the coach to the new one.

The team of Poland was desperately unlucky to go out in the quarter-finals of UEFA EURO 2016 on penalties, and the Lions of Teranga will be definitely eager to show their claws against them. After 12 years of absence, Adam Nawalka’s charges are back and all eyes will also be on Robert Lewandowski. His face appears on stamps back in his homeland and there’s no question why is that. Lewandowski scored no fewer than 16 goals in the qualifying phase and plus another three in two warm-up matches ahead of Russia 2018.

So definitely he will be looking to shine in his debut on the World Cup in Moscow’s Spartak Stadium.

Sports / Tunisia Vs England Soccer Preview by fikusjada: 10:12am On Jun 18, 2018
England and winning the World Cup is already something that’s kind of distant memory. It’s so much that everyone struggles to even remember that they had a victory against Slovenia, 1-0 almost eight years ago at South Africa 2010. Something noticeable is that none of those players was named in the team for Russia. The Three Lions have refreshed and have a new start with a host of young faces in the line-up since Gareth Southgate took over. Only five players have traveled to Brazil four years ago, so now this rejuvenated England team will attempt to end a four-game winless streak against Tunisia.

Far from pushovers the North Africans still have ambitions on their own at the tournament. Tunisia has shown that are tough and well-organized opponents.

Did you know that in 1998 in Marseille on June 15th the opening fixture of Group G was England against Tunisia? The match ended in England’s favor scoring 2-0.
