austino677:
.. Next time don't submit the visa form... Just save it... Then use the generated visa number for appointment booking....
This is exactly what I did for a friend last week before confirming his appointment, but I messed up with this one.

austino677:
I think can change the zero 0 in your passport number to letter O... they will correct it at tls
I'll try this right away.

austino677:
Two days ago.. I saw dates available from ending June... Now from August seems they have alot applicants.. The crowd too much oo
Yes, all European embassies are usually busiest between May and July because a lot of people want to go for summer holidays.

Just saw some appointments for August 1st. And it's being taken over fast. I would've taken one too but the travel date would've been too close which is not a good idea for first time Schengen applicants.

I tried creating a new application to use in booking the appointment but the TLS system is flagging that the passport number is already on file.

Also, I can't change the date on the France visa application portal as it's been confirmed already.

I don't even know what to do for now. I guess I'll wait till next week for hopefully more application slots in July.

austino677:
sure, I will...
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by firebreather: 7:54am On May 02, 2025
I'll continue to check. Hopefully, we'll find an appointment slot by next week.

Travel date is August, so I'm looking for appointment in July in order to have more days before the travel date

I read somewhere that they update the appointments by the first half of the week. Don't know how solid this is but I'll give it it a shot.

Also, in case you log on and see that appointments are available, kindly drop a message here. Thanks!

austino677:
yes and fast response than others
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by firebreather: 6:21am On May 02, 2025
I'll keep checking on France. The travel date is in August, so that gives some kind of buffer but if nothing shows up by next week I'll just move on to Belgium.

Just that we heard France has higher approval chances for first time applicants.

austino677:
appointment from next month on belgium and Lithuania

France nothing yet
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by firebreather: 11:19pm On May 01, 2025
Yes. Plenty money doesn't do the trick.

In fact, if you have bastard money in the account you're submitting, the visa officer might be suspicious that you're trying to elope to their country hence the huge money you've saved up (to support yourself in their country). Unless, you can show other documents to prove them otherwise.

Basically, just have enough money that corresponds realistically to your type of job to avoid raised eyebrows when they're looking at your documents.

Of course, all these are somewhat inapplicable once you have Schengen travel history.

Cashmadam:
Plenty money does not impress them. Please note that.

Good travel history, yes.

A good job/viable business and strong ties to Nigeria will add more value than pelnty money in your account
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by firebreather: 11:15pm On May 01, 2025
For myself, no. But I helped some friends book appointment last week.

Right now, I'm not even receiving their OTP messages to proceed with the appointment booking.

austino677:
yeah.. It's just random... Have you booked an appointment before?
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by firebreather: 2:16pm On May 01, 2025
I'll check again by early morning tomorrow
austino677:
5am to 11am

austino677:

TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by firebreather: 10:18am On May 01, 2025
Please has anyone been able to get appointment on TLS for France visa?
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by firebreather: 4:33pm On Apr 28, 2025
Once again, I am asking. Does one have to do C of O for their properties when applying for Schengen visa or the Deed of Assignment is sufficient?
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by firebreather: 11:49pm On Apr 27, 2025
This recommendation letter/affidavit of return, how do you go about it?

hunee:
I always tell people to fix their applications first with appeals first before reapplying for France visas(in cases where they get rejected)
It is a technical approach towards a reapplication OR betterstill, send an appeal to their mail acknowledging your errors and informing them of your intentions to reapply in future when circumstances change.
There are usually different approach to this visa thing depends on your strategy.

On your reapplication, ensure to attach that email copy of the appeal you sent, a recommendation letter from the police station , YES , a recommendation from a police station may shock everyone, but it is good approach too and an affidavit of return drafted by your lawyer(more like a recommendation letter)

If you follow this carefully, you should score a goal this time. This is the clarity you need (Proof of sufficient ties and recommendations)
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by firebreather: 10:17pm On Apr 27, 2025
Like that person said, it's not really about the money. In fact, sometimes when you have excessively large money in the account you used to apply it will look suspicious like you're planning to abscond to their country hence the huge money (they'll think you want to use that to settle in their country).

To demonstrate strong ties to Nigeria, you can include leave letter (and No Objection Certificate) from your work assuming you're employed but if you own your own business it's a different case. You could also add that you're caring for an elderly parent if you're single otherwise include your marriage certificate.

Another way is to submit proof of ownership of properties or other tangible assets that can really prove that you will return to Nigeria. I've also seen people including that they're about to get married with a wedding photoshoot and IV or their sister is about to get married.

In essence, take your time to start a convincing cover letter, emphasizing that you'll return to Nigeria after your trip.

You can also share your cover letter here when done so people can help you review.

Also, Ghana won't really count towards your "travel history" as they're just considered our neighbours so maybe you shouldn't waste money going there 🫠

AdeGbuyi20:
Thank you for your response, however, I need some clarification if you will be kind.

Can I really without the appeal to Nantes? How do I establish this ties? Not married. Can travelling to any west Africa country help? Say Ghana?

Thank you once more.
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by firebreather:
I once read here that the only acceptable document to show proof of owning a landed property is C of O. How true is this?

Also, if let's say this applicant has inheritance from their late father with their siblings e.g. the applicant was willed a flat in multiple flat building and the sibling too got other flats. How best can this be presented to showcase "Strong ties to the applicant's home country"

I'll wait for others to answer about the best option but if you're looking for conferences, visit 10times dot com. There you can filter by country and the field/industry of the conference.

Dorker:
Please I want to apply for France Visit Visa. I don’t have any info tho I have been following up with the day 2 day conversation on here and I have few questions to ask…

I AM A FIRST TIMER.

Please these are my questions::

1. What is the best time to book for vacation or conference?
2. Which one is more better to give higher visa approval between Vacation or conference? I don’t have anyone in France that can send me invite.
3. Which one give me upper hand between paid conference or free conference?
4. Can I just pick any conference off on google or are there any conferences that can give me upper hand I don’t mind paying.
What are the other information that I need also I plan to visit Germany from France is it possible?

Thank you very much family…

Does a 10 days trip to Belarus count as travel experience when applying for France tourist visa?

The passport holder was given 20 days duration of stay on their passport but only spent 10 days. Will that contribute to their application in any way.
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by firebreather: 1:17pm On Apr 22, 2025
Thank you!

Which other areas would you envisage can be strengthened to complement the "weakness" of SMEDAN certificate.

Jane111:
SMEDAN doesn't confer legal status on entities, I am not sure there is anyone that wouldn't prefer CAC to SMEDAN let alone an embassy. If you must use SMEDAN, make sure there are other areas of your application that can compensate for any perceived relative weakness of the SMEDAN certificate.
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by firebreather: 1:16pm On Apr 22, 2025
Rebook for 24th till the end of trip since supposedly, the embassy still has the travel date enclosed in the application, so that travel date is what should take precedence. Hence, send hotel reservation that aligns with that travel date.

Chelseaboy101:
Good day guys ! Please ooo , I'm helping someone apply for France visit visa and the initial travel date is 24th of April .. But today, she received an email to send a valid hotel reservation....

The initial hotel reservation I used for the application has been canceled.

My question is , do I changed the hotel date/travel date or go ahead and book for the 24th again ?

A quick response would be greatly appreciated.

Can I apply for France tourist visa if my employers only have SMEDAN Certificate?

There's no CAC yet and the CEO "isn't planning on getting that" for reasons best known to him.

Hi everyone, I appreciate all the knowledgeable people who have keep this thread educative and informative.

First time poster so please pardon me if I'm trespassing any rules.

I want to ask very random questions and hoping the experts here can be kind to give a good answer. I'll have questions for two different people applying for France visa later in the year.

1. Can a first time traveller working on a yearly contract basis with Lagos State government get a France tourist visa?

For example, if all other documents are intact (insurance, flight bookings, accommodation, itinerary, proof of sufficient ties back home e.g. caring for an elderly parent and managing a parent's business, recently rented apartment, landed properties).

Also, for person 1, if their basic salary from the contract role isn't up to 100k but they have a personal account with good money flow hence their balance/statement of account as at when applying can be ₦ 5m or more with total debit/credit of ₦ 10m and above.

2. Can a first time traveler with salary of 250k with a private business with similar situation as person 1 excluding the caring for an elderly parent get a France tourist visa?

For these two people, I'll be including a comprehensive cover letter, day-to-day itinerary and even prebook some refundable tours just to present a strong application.

Also, an unrelated question, has anyone has any positive experience with using generated proof of funds for applying for Schengen visa?
