39 suspects have been arrested in connection with alleged cases of armed robbery, car theft, kidnapping, cybercrime, trafficking of weapons, and homicide. 13 Ak 47 rifles, two Rocket-Propelled Grenade (RPG), 750 Ak 47 live ammunition, 11 Ak 47 magazines, 30 live cartridges, 58 wraps of explosives, and 157 sim cards were recovered.

The suspects, arrested by Operatives of the Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB), were paraded by the Force Public Relations Officer, CP Frank Mba, on Monday.

Among those paraded was 78-year-old Joseph Okala, a native of Agatu in Benue State, arrested with two RPGs. He allegedly acts as a middleman between the manufacturers of weapons and their end-users.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc (+), NPM, fdc, asserted that the control of crime and criminalities is not only physical crime but external factors like food security, social security, education, unemployment must also be addressed.

The Inspector-General of Police made this known on Friday while interacting with 51 participants of the Strategic Leadership Course, who had undergone training on a course themed “Strategic Leadership Roles In Policing Diverse Society.”

Police Officers should be dynamic, proactive, and be in line with society trends, which is why training and retraining and exposure through courses are pivotal in the Force.
According to the IGP, the style of policing the course participants should introduce must fit the trend of crime and criminalities in the country.

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has suspended the Commander, Intelligence Response Team (IRT) of the Nigeria Police Force, DCP Abba Kyari, from the exercise of the Powers and functions of his office.

According to the Head, Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, in a statement on Sunday, Abba Kyari’s suspension took effect from Saturday, July 31st, 2021, and would remain pending the outcome of the investigation in respect of his indictment by the Federal Bureau of Investigation of the United States.

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a myriad of miscreants following the creation of four Tactical Units to tackle the new dimensions of social vices in the State.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, on Wednesday, paraded not less than 1320 miscreants/hoodlums and several others for alleged armed robbery, cultism, defilement, rape, unlawful possession of firearms, cases, stealing, running a baby
