that was exactly what i said last summer. i told these herbs that di maria wouldn't improve the wingers we already had in the squad and his fees should be spent in the midfield area. lo & behold, young has kept di maria away from the starting XI with back to back MOTM awards.


the cats here get easily fooled by foreign players. di maria's numbers @madrid were inflated because he was surrounded by goal machines while there. ozil also generated 20+ assists in that league & he's completely dried up @arsenal right now.

i guess ozil is still adjusting to england's football life too. any fool can generate assists in la liga. it's the equivalent of the scottish league. 3 solid teams on top & 17 rubbish teams below them. in which other top league are the front 3 generating this kinda numbers?

But how come Di Maria managed to have second highest assist despite his poor season coupled with misfiring forwards

Di Maria has gained an added respect from me with his decision to stay and fight for a place in the starting XI and also to win trophies.


It woulda been cowardice if he had let this season's distractions and misfortunes lead him to seek a different club.

I hope and believe he will come good next season.

how? what the center needs is an injection of pace. Carrick, Blind, Herrera,Fellaini, Mata are just there even tho they are mobile players (minus Carrick).

Strootman,every time I have seen him played he has never disappointed, just his injury tho.I can't see Vidal and Macherano leaving the champions league prospective winners.Our best shot should be schneiderlin.

u guyz use to forget the pairing of Juan mata @ the right wing up front,who isn't a natural out and out winger he prefers to drift infield.He also has a poor tracking back records and wining tackles is problem he faces the same fate when paired with Di Maria tho Di Maria tracks back better but we can clearly remember how he left Valencia exposed against arsenal when Monreal had an easy run into our 18yard.Valencia do not enjoy luxuries of Fellaini and young coming to his help.
