Abstract.
Nigeria as a federal state operates 3 executive arms of government: Federal, State and the Local government. Each executive arm receive their budgetary allocation but in the case of local governments, records show that local government funds are deposited in state coffers. In recent times, State governors have been fingered in acts of misappropriating local government funds delivered to them by federal government and as a result, has brought about heated debate amongst public officials.



Nigerians should put on their thinking caps so they understand that this is NO WIN for the common man, but a sure win for politicians at the grassroots.

Many African countries, including Nigeria, have significant portions of their debt in foreign currencies“If economic growth rates are stagnating or declining, it becomes harder to generate the revenue needed to service debt“High debt-service ratios, where a significant portion of government revenue goes to servicing debt, indicate financial strain.”
