The meaning being : Not always are things plain and straightforward.

Say you have a dispute. You give your version of the facts, how or what happened, Your partner or friend then gives their own version, which may differ from yours, now you have a witness standing by who saw and heard everything and they have their own version . Now you are left with three different interpretations or three points of view of the story told and left to weigh out the facts and get down to the bottom of what really occurred taking ino consideration all three sides, so as to be able to come up with a fair and clear conclusion as to what actually took place, take into account each and every side of the stories as told , keeping in mind what one person may feel or think may not concur with another, but doesn't nessasarily mean that any one person is or was wrong, but simply expressing their sentiments
