And was back at exactly 9:40am

That is like more than one hour and yet you didn't observe it

I use three powerful phones two Samsung and iPhone

So it has nothing to do with phones

well...whenever I'm in a place where there is poor network and my network signal is showing 1 or 2 bars and I switched to VPN, it normally bypass the network giving me a full signal bars with insane speed...

I'm not an IT guy, but that is how I understood it in a layman's word...

Then on your vpn make you change your location to another country then you go see say your WhatsApp go function. Which means vpn only change your location thereby concealing your default location
