Ubi Franklim has reacted to Federal Government’s threat of making Tekno a scapegoat to send strong signals of intolerance to ‘nonsense and immorality’, following the viral video in which he was spotted dancing with semi-naked ladies in Lekki area of Lagos.

It was reported earlier that the Director General of the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) a parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, Segun Runsewe expressed disappointment that the Cartel Music boss released the music video which sparked controversy while being shot.

He further said they are going to inform security agencies to place him on their watch list, because his action is a threat to national security and a bad influence on Nigerian youths.

More details have emerged about a road crash that killed at least 20 people travelling along the Bauchi-Maiduguri highway in Darazo Local Government Area of Bauchi State during the weekend.



It was also reported that more than 80 animals, likely meant to celebrate Sallah, also died in the accident.

A spokesperson for the Bauchi State Police Command DSP Kamal Datti Abubakar and his Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) counterpart, Rilwanu Mohammed confirmed the incident to Daily Trust.

Mohammed said he was aware of the incident but yet to get the full details.

However, Kamal said: “The incident happened late on Friday night around 10 pm. It was a head-on collision between a J5 bus and an 18-seater Hummer bus. “The J5 was coming from Potiskum, Yobe State, heading towards Bauchi. It was carrying goats while the Hummer bus was from Bauchi. They had a head-on collision which instantly started the fire that burnt 20 people beyond recognition.”

He added, “19 names were recognized by family members through the manifest in which they wrote their details at the motor park.”

He revealed that a mass burial was held for the deceased on Saturday.

When contacted, the Caretaker Chairman of Darazo LG, Garau Adamu, said the passengers came from different places and the accident occurred between Kari and Sade.

Adamu added that he would meet with the officials of Federal RoadsvMaintenance Agency (FERMA) after the public holidays in order to find the best way they can fill potholes on the road to avoid a future accident.

The minority caucus of the House of Representatives has called for the release of Omoyele Sowore, in the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir celebration.



In a goodwill message to Muslims on the celebration, the Minority Leader, Ndudi Elumelu, said although the challenges facing the country were enormous, they could be surmounted if government rallied all Nigerians to work together as one people.

Sowore, the 2019 presidential candidate of African Action Congress (AAC), was arrested and detained for organizing the ‘RevolutionNow’ protest to demand major reforms in the country.

“The house minority caucus felicitates with Muslim faithful at Eid-el-Kabir, we call on our Muslim brothers and sisters to use the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir to pray for peace and well-being of our nation.

“There is a need to reflect on and imbibe the exemplary legacies of Prophet Mohammed, especially his life of love, forgiveness, and sacrifice.

“In the same vein, we urge President Muhammadu Buhari to order the release of Sowore, in the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir and in deference to democracy,” Elumelu said.

He noted that Nigeria was facing enormous economic and security challenges and urged the Federal Government to direct attention, energy and state resources toward surmounting them.

Elumelu said the expectation was that the government would rally Nigerians across the political, religious, and ethnic divide to work as one people to deal with the challenges.

He called on Muslims to pray for peace and security in the country and to imbibe qualities of peace, forgiveness, and sharing as practised by Prophet Mohammed, reports News Agency of Nigeria.
