I think one major reason is greed, fighting for what did not rightly come one.

It is observed that Nigerian politicians are bad loosers. But why? Now that election is just few days, will they learn to change their mind set? Will they take time to learn from Abraham Lincoln who failed many times but never pull down anything. Rather he saw an opportunity in his failures! If i may ask, why?...why are our politicians ready to pull down the nation if they lose an eletion?
