It is the state house of assembly that makes the laws that govern the local government, not the Governor, a state Governor cannot appoint any local government care taker without the exclusive agreement of the state house of assembly, it is not even within the jurisdiction of the executive to have anything with the elected local government officials.

The demand for Anioma State predates the creation of Old Bendel State, Edo State, Delta State, and even the Niger Delta and South-South geopolitical zones.

We have all the necessary resources to become a state. The agitation for Anioma State has been ongoing for over 30 years. Creating Orlu State doesn’t make sense. It’s like someone needing six fingers but, instead of finding the missing finger, he cut off one of his existing five fingers to make six. That doesn’t make sense.

What we need is Anioma State, not Orlu State.
