I said such a funny statement could only come from a naive football lover. Anyone who has been watching this beautiful game of football for a long time would easily know that losing points during league games is not as painful as getting knocked out of a tournament. Nobody is saying United didn’t Bleep up by losing that 3 points to Villa and no one is saying it won’t come back to affect them. My schooling you was in response to your erroneous assertion that Unai Emery did more damage to United with his 3 to nil win, okay?
I can remember also saying that Villa beating United would have count as something worthwhile if United was on an unbeaten run and Villa destroyed the unbeaten streak just like United ended Arsenal’s run this season. If United hadn’t done that to Arsenal, they would be everywhere bragging about it today and would be dreaming of having a repeat of 2003/04.

Someone knocking you out of a tournament is always more painful than taking 3 points from you. The league game will still be played again at Trafford by April next year while Villa is out of 2022 FA for good. Your argument would have made sense if United was actually on a stunning unbeaten run and that Villa’s 3-1 win ended the streak just the same way United ended Arsenal’s own this season. Do you understand how it works now?
