Valentine's Date If you don't understand politics with bitterness before, I think with the antics of the ruling party, you must have learned a lot. Before now we were made to believe that every Muslim is a potential terrorist, then came the question of credentials and certifications, ultimately, the religious card was played. Who is the Pastors endorsing? Sorry, but I think the Imams too should have their candidate. *show of shame* One candidate said he stands for change; a move away from what we have come to call norm; corruption, stealing (not same thing as corruption, please), poor power supply, dwindling currency strength, dying foreign reserve, sky rocketing external debt, federal employment scams, subsidy fraud, insecurity, Firstlady stirring things up...endless list. What if he can't do all of these, what if he can't even do half but then, what if he can only fix one of these things, Life will rightly change, don't you think? We have to move away from fictional figures and characters which/who have no effect on our daily living, increase in GDP when poverty is looking stronger than ever, technology against corruption while Billions are still flying away on eagle's wings, thousands of jobs created only to book appointments for the job-seekers at a stampede arena and 24hours power supply which left even CNN confused. People steal and get national awards, some stole and get ministerial reassignment, way to go boss. Now some youth believe that keeping this government is a way to ensure their sudden riches too. *what a shame* I personally don't believe a man can change everything but as history taught me, 'change is never a man's sole duty but change needs a man to champion it'. Some leaders had dreams, other lived till their dreams were fulfilled, "Yes, We Can", another said, few stood tall after it all like the Madibas of this world. Let's stand behind someone who has agenda, someone who can actually list the things he wants to do, someone who is not asking for certificate but evidence of what has been done in the last 6years. 'What if he looses?', you will like to ask me. Awolowo was the best president Nigeria never had, MKO was the people's president that never made it to office, Yar'Adua was the best thing we never really enjoyed, another history is waiting to be written but we will know that we have tried once again to set this nation on the right course, at the Valentine's date with the polls. I get hit on by lots of guys. One went as far as to insult me when I declined his date offer last night. I've had some telling me how much they love yoruba culture just to impress me, yet they don't even bother to look up the history behind what they're talking about . One guy told me he learned yoruba with the hopes of getting a yoruba wife. How pathetic .Some guys are hot, but why so desperate? Is it because we(yoruba girls) look better than girls, have better bodies? We also have prettier hair unlike girls with thin hair. ![]() |
