A Gentlelord:CELPIP is done in Nigeria due to excessive examination malpractice according to word around the grapevine, my spouse got this notification back in February. Every exam scheduled in every other center in Nigeria was cancelled and rescheduled to Dragnet in Victoria Island. They are not allowing new registrations at this time. Consider registering another English language test.

Ayomid3h:The wheel is spinning but the hamster is perhaps exhausted or already dead. Bro to bro I don't think medical intervention would be amiss in this case because quite frankly I think your issues transcend Nairaland, do reach out to your intimates and get the help you so obviously require. Going about accusing total strangers of grievous crimes might be manifestations of significant underlying pathology, if this is some kind of twisted joke you're the only participant it should stop! If you have evidence of any previous interaction between us before you started unfortunately derailing these threads pls present it openly, let me reiterate I am not Stephen neither do I have any knowledge or familiarity with this oddity manifesting as an individual, This wretchedness must stop this instant ! Shalom! |
Ayomid3h:Normally I wouldn't reply an inveterate gambler because this page is hosting people whose lives are on the up and up but you've made a serious accusation without a single shred of evidence. I hope this delirium and pathological unbalance of yours doesn't constitute a permanent state of affairs in your life, not that it was enviable to begin with. Get help! |
azarenka:Congratulations! I hope your results turn out great. I tried to comment a few times in French it kept getting flagged by the spam bot. That being said I think this your rather compact and compressed preparation timeline should carry a parental guidance warning or something; except you are exceptionally brilliant hopefully like the poster or have an unmatched flair for languages 4-6 months is grossly insufficient to learn, master and pass a French proficiency exam. Here's my advice... You should budget at least a year if you are able to commit to full-time, intensive study or around 2 years if you're unable to. For example if you're starting from the scratch at Alliance Francaise intensive classes that is 3hrs every Mon-Fri (8:30 - 11:30) or (11:45 - 2:45). You will spend 2 months in A1 , 2 months in A2, 3 Months in B1, 4 months in B2. That's already like a year plus another 3 months at least for preparation. If you're unable to commit to intensive your classes take even longer, you have to know not a lot of people pass this exam overall, less people even pass it on the first attempt. Except you're talented after many months in you're going to feel frustrated like you're not learning anything. Here's my list of resources: L'atelier Methode de Francais and Cahier d'activites (A1-B2) this is the text and workbook you get at AF TV5MONDE RFI radio should become the background to your life Le petit prince Prep my future TCF Canada Reussir TCF when your exam is near Hello Talk to practice speaking with a native You still might require a private tutor. It's easy to get one among Alliance professeur Backpack in France or Francophone Africa (Senegal and/or Ivory Coast) the other Francophone countries speak corrupt French interspersed with a heavy dose of local dialect. Disclaimer: I'm not answering DM's please neither do I send DM's. There's a scammer roving . If you do have questions ask openly I will give it my best shot. I have no profound insight or privileged understanding save the one I've shared here. I have no private thoughts to add |
Jboyossai:I bought a practice test set it's used up sorry. I cannot help. |
Qwertyuser:I expect this inanity to be corrected to reflect that due to your own gullibility and lack of intuition you got swindled by some halfwit that can barely spell. I expect the record to be corrected. Before now I didn't engage with you, I'm not responsible for whomsoever you chose to send money too and your inability to read the room. I have previously stated my method for passing the French, I did not ask anyone to contact me infact I stated that I didn't like to be contacted as I have no further insight to share. Everyone that I have replied to has been on the thread and my reply has been exhaustive to the best of my ability. At the risk of a little braggadocio I wipe my derriere with 40k. I'm going to take your failure to correct the record as bad faith on your part. State that you got swindled by an impersonator whom I raised alarm about way before you did that you still fell is on you, while I sympathise with you I would not take that stain on my reputation because dude I've never contacted you neither did I reply your personal messages. Shalom. |
Ghaliz2:This is me here, I came here as a guest not signed in I could see a guy that has been quoting people that are attempting to send me a message yet when I logged in I couldn't see it because I was blocked . I had to create another account to notify the moderator of the scammer to get him blocked and the post hidden, yet another dude went and fell for it rather than dwell on your own gullibility you're casting aspersions on my own name. Outside of quotes and mentions I have never engaged with anyone here, I have stated it that I do not reply DM's, my email contain identifying details I do not wish to make acquittances here with anyone. I suggest you pursue the criminal with every resources available to you, I'd be willing to join in such an enterprise, but to anyway insinuate that this cheap criminal is connected to me is what I'm quite unwilling to tolerate. The lowlife you've been speaking to that parted you from 40k is incapable of paying for a French language Ed. 40k isn't a significant fraction of what it takes to acquire the knowledge. You should also take some responsibility for your credulity, naivete and lack of judgement, Sending money to people you've never met over the Internet is seriously baffling to me. You should not be so easily parted from your resources. I dissociate myself from this criminal. Put that responsibility where it belongs, you should withdraw this insulting accusation and face squarely the bottom feeder that scammed you. |
Qwertyuser:What the actual Bleep!!! Read my previous post I have complained about this on a previous post. Don't unfairly malign me. I already stated that I do not reply Personal messages, my email is my personal details. I have no idea who replied you dude. This is a anonymous page. Every detail I can give i have, with blocking now there's a epidemic of impersonation I've already reported one person. I did not reply your DM neither did I attempt to contact you, whoever did is a criminal. Please forward the details to the police I'd be happy to pay to make this happen. What the bloody hell man. Stop sending people money on anonymous sites WTF!!! |
Pheo:I bought official study materials from Celpip, with practise tests and study guides. You will struggle to find any great study materials that's free, it is by design and you ultimately have to put your money where your mouth is. Sorry. |
Thedon22:Common sense is chasing you but dude you are The Flash... |
dettolgel:They are actually paying it, it has steadily climbed from $2600 earlier in the war to $5k by late last year before some decline earlier this year but it is climbing again. They recruit a lot of ex military guys in Nigeria, the retired officers earn even higher. |
samwash:Both sides have heavily used Mercenaries extensively in this war, Ukraine heavily recruits South Americans and even Africans, the quality of training is uneven, most foreigners are sent to combat battalions, Ukrainian battalions are so in name only given their evisceration. This entire conflict has been a meat factory. Ukraine is trying to disrupt personnel pipeline from Africa to the special military operation, that's quite understandable. It is the moral tone that I find questionable. |
This is Ukranian propaganda, No Nigerian is fighting unwittingly for Russia, they do it for a $50K signing bonus and $5k monthly pay. It is unfortunate but such is the life of a soldier. Ukraine meanwhile is deliberating on Press ganging foreigners living in Ukraine a big portion of them Nigerians studying there before the war into compulsory military service. It is a bunch of brothers being used to contain each other at the behest of a foreign hostile power, it is an entire generation of Slavic men fertilising the Steppes of Donbas. That being said Africans stay home it's not get rich or die trying. |
The writer might be a little thick. The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam generates about 5,000MW about to the same as Nigeria's output. It costs $5 billion to build. Tinubu's administration awarded the coastal road for $15 billion without competitive bidding to his friend while Nigeria's existing road network was largely decrepit. He could have awarded a 5,000 MW dam, invested in transmission capacity and still had a few billion dollars to upgrade existing infrastructure. My dear folks Nigeria is unsalvageable, this realisation fills me with sadness, Nigeria's political class is getting more emboldened to inflict even more hardship upon Nigerians |
Habibiie:One thing you won't find for TCF or TEF Canada is high quality free resources, I'm afraid you're going to have to put your money where your mouth is. I used Réussir TCF ( a month package for $30) I recommend you start this a month to your exam. I used Prep My Future (80K) this can be purchased online or on site at any Alliance Francaise. It contains previous test, diagnostics, mini-TCF. I used my Atelier textbook and workbooks (A1-B2) I got those during my classes at Alliance, you get that during your classes at every level, check the Alliance Francaise Nigeria website I used HelloTalk to communicate with native speakers, there are free versions but I used that up and switched to paid! I'd tell you preparing is not cheap but most importantly not every one would work, you should consider backpacking across French West Africa put your French to work, get comfortable with the language. Good luck! |
Ayrastarr:First you're probably going to need all that and then some. Alliance Francaise introduces you to French language, some vocabulary exercises and tries to gently ease you into getting comfortable with the language. But the 600 hours or so of classes from A1 - B2 is painfully insufficient. In addition Alliance does not train you to write the TEF or TCF, they introduce and teach you the French language, the TCF is a different beast entirely. What you need to do if you have not started is have a month of Duolingo, enrol at Alliance Française, you will get the A1 Atelier workbook and textbook immediately, start devouring it , pay for Prep my future another Alliance Francaise test taker initiative, start preparing for your exam from Day 1. By the time you get to B1.1 (B1 is usually split into 3 an average of 200k each per month) before your B1.2 your preparation should be at an advanced stage you can make the determination if you require a private tutor or not. I'm not going to lie the French was hard AF! Learning a new language is tough, you are used to thinking in English and it shares little with French, your brain would push back. I used Réussir TCF, Prep my future, I slept and woke up to RFI, I spent a month in Senegal because they speak the best French in West Africa anyway. Maybe someone more brilliant than I would require less help. I know when I registered at alliance 14 months ago across morning, afternoon, evening class we were like 50. A year later only 3 of us wrote the exam some are still preparing , plenty gave up. |
When I started Alliance Francaise A1.1 in late 2024 I paid 66k for the intensive class with I think an extra 40k or something for Atelier workbook and textbook for A1 by the time I started A1.2 it went up to 181k sans workbook. I wrote my TCF last month, I give glory to God. A quick unsolicited advice for aspiring TEF/TCF candidates, Duolingo alone no matter what level you get to simply won't cut it. I had to quit my job so I could attend a 3hr class Mon-Fri @ alliance yet even that isn't a guarantee of nothing. You must give yourself over totally to the language. In addition to my daily classes, I listen to RFI on my way to and from classes, six months to my exam I got a private tutor who taught at Alliance for 10hrs per week, they don't come cheap. If you are not ready to lose yourself to it totally it won't work. By my own estimation less than 10% of alliance students pass the TCF/TEF exam, an even smaller percentage pass on the first attempt. Most just get tired, regress and quietly drop out. |
Hello house, I'm new here! I got the result of my TCF Canada this week. NCLC 8. I'm good to go! I started learning French with Duolingo 2 years ago but I finally joined Alliance Francaise in OCT 2024 , I spent a little over a year getting from A1.1 - B2.4 I had to quit my job to focus on it. I have my CELPIP, TCF. I'm still feeling euphoric, getting a reference that ties into an NOC is getting a little tricky. I have written to the HR at my former firm. Thank you house I just wanted to introduce myself. I look forward to sharing my journey and learning how to navigate mine through contributions here. Merci à tous. |
