EducationBREAKING: Another Ondo Varsity Students Protest High Tuition, Shutdown School by Gistok2(op): 11:47am On Apr 29, 2019
Students of Ondo State University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa, Ondo State, OSUSTECH, have shut down academics activities in the institution as they are currently protesting what they described as outrageous school fees introduced by the school’s management.

The students have blocked the Okitipupa-Igbokoda highway which has prevented movement of motorists within the axis with bonfires set up on the road where the institution is located.

The protest is coming few days after their counterparts in Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, AAUA, disrupted academic activities while agitating for similar purpose which led to the closure of the institution.

Some of the students told GISTOK that the “exorbitant” fee is an attempt by the state government to deprive them of getting tertiary education, arguing that the present economy situation is not in tune with the government’s position.

The management of the institution is yet to react to the protest as at press time..

PoliticsFulani Elders Slam Miyetti Allah Over Tinubu’s 2023 Presidential Bid by Gistok2(op): 8:47am On Apr 29, 2019
The elders of Fulani have distanced themselves from the comments accredited to Alhaji Bello Bodejo, the president of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, that the national leader of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will never lead Nigeria as president.

DAILY POST recalls that Bodejo, in an informed interview, had moved to reduce the presumed presidential candidacy of Tinubu in 2023.

But in a statement on Sunday, the Fulani Elders Forum said Bodejo made the statement to serve some dubious interests, adding that he lacked the mandate and moral standing to speak on behalf of the Fulani ethnic group. The forum further questioned Bodejo’s credentials and criticized him for trying to arrogate to himself the power of the Nigerians to determine who directs them.

The statement signed by the forum spokesman, Muhammad Musa Bawa, says: “We noted with dismay a publication in the newspaper The Sun on Saturday, April 27, 2019 and attributed it to Alhaji Bello Bodejo, the self-proclaimed president of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore ., an association maliciously designed to serve some dubious interests. In the publication, Bello Bodejo was cited as a criticism of the person of the national leader of All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“Bello Bodejo’s statement is unfortunate and repulsive in all its ramifications: On the one hand, he lacks the mandate and the credibility to speak on behalf of the Fulani, he has lost the confidence of our people due to his criminal activities, which are well known to us, we challenge him to go out and tell everyone how his younger brother was killed during a supposed robbery operation in Saminaka at Lere LGA, using his Hilux vehicle.

“Bello Bodejo is a well-known con man who has made a career of deceiving the poor members of his Fulani community, as he currently leads one of the largest gangs of cattle rustling in the northern center, a man morally depraved that he could not have a woman as a wife in his house, such a person can not be taken seriously or be considered as a person who speaks for others.

“Bello Bodejo represents everything that is not ethical. His questionable background speaks volumes about him and his ways. When he realized that he could not actualize his disastrous activities under a decent partnership, he resorted to desperate movements, contacting prominent politicians, soliciting sponsorship and claiming to be a leader of the Fulani under Kautal Hore. , an association of bags where he is the law for himself.

“In 2015, he aligned himself with the then-ruling PDP. To get into the heart of the party, he went to Aso Rock Villa, where he backed former President Goodluck Jonathan on behalf of Fulani in Nigeria, a crime for which the people of Fulani still can not forgive him. He punished General Muhammadu Buhari, calling him all kinds of printable names.

“In the run-up to the 2019 elections, Bello Bodejo also made frantic efforts to align himself with the PDP’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who had several meetings with him at his Asokoro residence. When all efforts to trick Atiku Abubakar failed, he resorted to direct blackmail, saying once again many unpleasant things about Atiku.

“Later he made frantic efforts to reach Asiwaju Tinubu in January 2019 to sell himself as someone with mass followers. But his satanic plans could not cross a highly intelligent Asiwaju, who can identify a scammer when he sees it, hence the unprovoked outburst of Bello Bodejo.

“Nigerians must know Bello Bode through his past record. It is not worth anything and should be seen as such.

“He does not send any decent follower since his criminal record speaks volumes about him. He is a scammer with a questionable background who is pleased to intimidate people who use their clandestine activities.

“On the issue of 2019 that raised, no one can arrogate the power to decide who should lead or aspire to lead the country. The generality of the Nigerian people will make that crucial decision. Only a character similar to Bello Bodejo, masked as a leader, would make such sweeping statements. The manner and manner in which he spoke suggests that he is playing God, which speaks of the appearance of early signs of schizophrenia expressed in childish behaviors.

“Asiwaju Tinubu is highly qualified and well equipped to lead the country regardless of the thinking of people like Bodejo. Leadership comes from Almighty God alone. Instead of focusing on the many challenges facing the pastor community, Bodejo is busy building castles in the air
