➡Resumption Date for Secondary : Monday 16th November, 2020

➡Resumption Date for Primary : Monday 23rd November, 2020.

➡Closing Date for Secondary/Primary : Friday 26th February, 2021.

➡Duration : 13 Weeks ( Holidays :2 weeks)

➡Holidays : Saturday 19th December, 2020 to Sunday 4th January, 2021.



SECOND -TERM BEGINS : Monday 8th March , 2021.

➡Closing Date : Friday 4th June, 2021.

➡Duration : 12 weeks

➡Holidays : March 26th, 2021 to April 5th, 2021 .



THIRD -TERM BEGINS: Monday 7th June, 2021.

➡Closing Date : 10th September, 2021

Public Announcement

This is to inform the general public that His Excellency Governor Nyesom Wike, CON, GSSRS, POS (Africa), Governor of Rivers State, has approved the reopening of all Public and Private Nursery and Primary Schools in the State with effect from Monday 23rd November 2020 for First Term 2020/2021 academic session, in line with the School Calendar published by the Ministry of Education in August 2020.

By this announcement all Head Teachers, Proprietors and other concerned persons should take all necessary steps to ensure safe and hitch-free resumption in line with extant COVID-19 Protocols.

Pupils, Parents and Guardians and the general public should please take note.

the salary new scale and new retirement age covers state teachers just like the fixed federal minimum wage covers state workers

A BRIEF OF ANCOPSS MEETING WITH HON. COMMISSIONER FOR EDUCATION TODAY FRIDAY 2ND OCT.2020 AT GGSS RUMUEME . Schools to resume Monday 5/10/2020 . All covid 19 regulations must be put in place and observed. School premises and it's environ must be neat, grasses cut. A seven man taskforce has been set up to monitor schools, defaulters will be sanctioned. Resumption from 5th Oct-13th Nov is 3rd term. This 6weeks period is for quality control,refresher course for students as well as assessment and evaluation for 3rd term. First Term 2020/2021 Academic Session begins Mon 16/11/2020--26/2/2021 (13wks) . Second Term begins Mon 8/3/2021--Frid 4/6/2021. (12wks). Third Term- begins Mon 7/6/2021--Frid 10/9/2021 (14wks). All Schools will operate two(2) sessions: Morning and Afternoon sessions. ÙBE for morning, from 8.00am-11am. While SSec classes from 1pm-3pm. Then a Saturday make up physical and Virtual sessions. No teacher should ask for overtime payment because of the Saturday classes because we were at home for over three months but received salary. The govt has made provisions for more Covid 19 protocol items that will be distributed tomorrow Saturday/Sunday.
