Hey people so I promised to tell you about my personal experience which happened last month.....So that's how I boarded the bus to Obalende - after waiting for like 10mins already due to the fact that everyone was faster than me in jumping the bus We shar got going that's how the bus started slowing down right on 3rd mainland bridge and the passengers of the bus are getting agitated "oga driver, wetin dey happen" "driver this no be my bus-stop o" "ahan, wetin do this your bus sef".....see me just being quiet praying that the bus won't shar stop moving. That's how the conductor now called out to the driver "Ah, Akanni abi fuel yenn ti tan ni" in english "Ah, Akanni or has the fuel finished" and in my mind I'm like chill.....you're driving a bus that doesn't have fuel and you put passengers on it ![]() At the end shar, we had to queue, one of those queues that you won't even know if you'll ever get to the promised land.....I was really boiling ehn, some people even came down raining curses on the conductor but what could I do ? I shar sat down there till the fuel eventually came through. One funny guy while we were waiting for the fuel was like "Driver me I no go come down o, until the money wey I give you finish pata pata"....lol |

In this 2015, so many things have happened; from the increase in the boko haram killings to the unstable rise of the dollar exchange rate to the peaceful elections which held in March to the biggest one yet - the unending fuel issues still bothering us after 3 months! Ridesharing via gomyway is the best way to go about the fuel situation. It helps connect passengers with car owners who have spare seats to share while driving so they can share cost. So here’s the deal, if you have a car and you have a regular route within your city or travel to another town, you get to post your ride on www.gomyway.com and charge the passengers a particular fee. No percentage is going to be collected by the company but the money you get is for you and you alone. The best part - You’re guaranteed 200litres worth of fuel from us if you share your city-to-city ride. Talk about some extra extra money! ![]() what do you think? |
Among all the different kinds of public transport in Nigeria which includes okada, the popular danfo and keke; the most peculiar of them all is the danfo. I wonder if it’s the youthful exuberance displayed by the conductors or maybe it’s because I’ve lived in Lagos all my life. Looking back at all the experiences such as the showering of heavenly rain from the conductor’s mouth, the stealing of belongings in less than a second, the pushing and squeezing to find a space in the bus to call your own. I wonder if it’s only me that has experienced the best and worst of these people but I’m sure at least 1 person here would have also had his/her fair share of the public transport “madness”. Please whoever has had a funny, sad or even happy encounter should freely share .I'll also narrate my public transport experience which happened just last month. |

laudate:@laudate It actually will. If everyone embraces ridesharing, the traffic situation will reduce. Imagine we both have cars and we're both going in the same direction, I don't have to drive my car but simply join your ride and the days you don't want to drive you can also join my ride. This helps in the reduction of cars on the road at the same time and reduces the bad traffic you face. As regards our present day, even if there's traffic on the road and you're ridesharing you won't be so stressed as you will have someone to keep you company. As regards the pot-holes, let's keep hoping for a better Nigeria.. things will change ![]() |
hey Sile,so there's still one more transport means you haven't mentioned yet.....Tadaa! its called "ride sharing" which involves the sharing of vehicles by passengers to reduce vehicle trips, traffic congestion and automobile emissions. I think this type of transportation system will benefit Nigeria especially where traffic on the road is caused by too many vehicles on the road at once. It's actually being practiced in Nigeria now although Nigerians may be quite reluctant about it. What do you think? |
efepro:Hey @efepro! 3rd mainland bridge is actually the longest in Africa. I have proof from Wikipedia ![]()
