UmmTwins2 weldone mah cos for a self taught, u have gone far oh. learning basic stitches in crochet helped me catch up fast but I have a cheat sheet *** covers face** wetin we go do now, we must crochet noni. LOL

Google crochet edging to have an idea. Then when you do your base circle abi na cylinder/ ring, you do an edging that corresponds with the number of stitches in your base. Ie. Most edging will have a repetition of a set number of stitches e.g the pattern repeats every 10 stitches so your base ring will be in multiple of 10.
Then most likely finish the with a slip stitch /picot sticth as the last round.

To add stiffness... i believe you will need to starch and dry it on a maniquine head or bowl or something, to help maintain its shape.

You can use single strand yarn so that it is lightweight. The good thing about this one is that you draft a paper pattern based on the child's measurement. And then make as many motifs as will fill up your paper pattern.

yes I double the yarn for all my crochet works cos yeye yarn is not as thick as some foreign yarn.

also, I used my 4mm hook, but the pattern youbare following will specify the hook size to use.

hello sharon6, I used yeye yarn. I bought them from a local market where I stay. also, yeye yarn can now be purchased online from their website (yeyeshopcart dot com).

I tried crocheting baby shoe but I didn't get the sole, after finishing, it looks like canoe, so I didn't make the second leg.

I later used Bethany sample on sole. Thats the sole

also one thing I have come to know about crocheting is that you need a large dose of patience and everyday practise.

I remembered when tatacherie n I started our crochet class LMAO. our beanie were like baskets

but now we are better and we are still trying to improve.

weldone ma'am with the blanket. I noticed that this yarn is quite different from our normal yeye yarn. also, you are using a strand of yarn( u didn't double it). hope the work won't be too soft.

I'm just wondering cos I am used to doubling my yarn .
