At least six people have been confirmed dead following coordinated attacks by Boko Haram terrorists in Adamawa State.

Local authorities say the insurgents struck on Tuesday, targeting both security forces and civilian locations in Banga and neighbouring Larh villages.

Chairman of the Hong Local Government Council, Usman Wa'aganda, confirmed the fatalities, which include two men and a woman in Banga. In Larh, a local vigilante and two others were reportedly killed by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by the terrorists.

“The terrorists stormed the villages, planting IEDs aimed at both security personnel and civilians,” a local source told Sahara Reporters. “They killed three people in Banga and three more in Larh, including our local defender.”

Residents expressed deep concern over the renewed violence, especially as the farming season begins.

“We are gripped with fear. How can we go to the farms when these terrorists are back?” a resident lamented.

In a related incident, a police patrol van stationed in Garaha was targeted with explosives. Fortunately, the officers evacuated the area before the device detonated.

The attacks come amid growing concerns in neighbouring Borno State, where Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has recently warned that Boko Haram may be regaining lost ground and reestablishing control over some territories.
