Humanity suffers when the most powerful nations see bombs and guns as the right mix to solve any international dispute. They make it look like dialogue and diplomacy are boring.. , they make pacifists look utterly naive.

America/NATO/Isreal insistence on bullets as a means of getting the results in their foreign policy quests around the globe, hinges almost entirely on the fact that they have been able to gain world dominance over time from all sorts of mega wars..

This success has created a generation of Westerners who only elect leaders that hunger for blood. It is like a vudeo game to them. But this is going to boomerang in the long run though. Military technology is spreading. Countries are getting weary of being bullied and their nations being looted. China and Russia are being increasingly ostracised and economically encircled too.

It is only a question of time before Russia and China starts selling those technologies to emerging nations. When western countries start to see huge bodybags after every military intervention, the urge to go to wars will start to decline..

USA should be aware that arming the Kurdish in Iran can also have a huge significant impact on turkey, cos if the Kurdish should win and probably be a state of it's own, the Kurdish in turkey will also fight to join their kins in a state of their own. No, and that's a big reason why states won't do better.

Funding for the federal police is scanty. To the point that we don't have up to ten police helicopters in Nigeria, for example. SO, expecting states to suddenly be able to pony up money for a decent police force is asking for too much...unless you want a state police force that is lightly armed and drives hiluxes

States like Zamfara and Kebbi for example...the have bandit problems. That means they need even more than what the Nigeria police has, and it is going to cost a lot of money

States like Bayelsa too..yes they get oil money via derivation, but they need a very strong state police to combat pipeline vandals and piracy...meaning they have to have better weapons and boats than the pirates and vandals.

Note that I am not opposed to state police. I am just showing you guys that it is not that simple to set up. If we lie to ourselves that there is money to do it, we will end up with state police forces that can't do anything about crime at all.

i'm of the opinion of a police force thats community driven, something like sheriffs. all armed most especially in rural areas. Their houses, is their offices. They should be the first responders, whether theyre paid 40k or minimum wage. State police wont do much presently particularly in the north

1.Sharia police, or hisbah is unarmed and basically would be wiped out by any bandits...they can't investigate crime, or enforce an arrest on a criminal for stealing. And so forth. They are equivalent to the varied enforcement agencies that exist in many of our states.

2.Also, no state can afford state police, even the christian ones. If you want state police so that the christian states can prevent terrorist movement, be prepared to pay heavy duty taxes for the funding, or forget about it. No state, even Lagos, has the ability to fund a proper police force for city policing...talkless of a police force that would be expert in fighting the bandits in the bush

Such a police force would need drones, heavy machine guns, helicopters, armoured vehicles, all terrain vehicles, and very good rifles..and all that costs money. Note that they also need training facilites, and not just some glorified secondary school or something, good forensic laboratory, and crucially good records....and very good salaries and conditons of service.

In this country where most state budgets are tiny, state police no go work for now. You can call me bandit defender, or any other name, but me, I don't mind state police, but the problem again is...funding.
