seunmsg: They are majorly folks who served in the Jonathan administration and now part of ADC or Obidient movement. If the Tinubu administration goes after them, you will be one of the very first people to shout political persecution. Lolz, I guess federal government had to forfeit some money to achieve this feat. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Kurdish Fighters Deny Invading Iranian Territory, Calls For Peace (Photos) by Gotocourt: 9:07pm On Mar 05 |
Trump says he must be involved in picking Iran's next leader Donald Trump said he must be involved in picking Iran's supreme leader after the incumbent, Ali Khamenei, was killed by US-Israeli strikes.
Statements by Iranian officials yesterday suggested they were "close" to announcing Khamenei's successor, with his son, Mojtaba, considered among the frontrunners.
Responding to the reports, Trump told US outlet Axios:
"They are wasting their time. Khamenei's son is a lightweight. I have to be involved in the appointment, like with Delcy [Rodriguez] in Venezuela." |

Kachi1194: USA should be aware that arming the Kurdish in Iran can also have a huge significant impact on turkey, cos if the Kurdish should win and probably be a state of it's own, the Kurdish in turkey will also fight to join their kins in a state of their own. Is USA going to sabotage a fellow NATO country just to achieve it's own goals without considering the impact it will have on others. the kurds wont cut part of iran. i read the conditions. |

Politics › Re: Why Nothern Leaders Are Against State Police by Gotocourt: 9:23am On Mar 05 |
nairalanda1: No, and that's a big reason why states won't do better.
Funding for the federal police is scanty. To the point that we don't have up to ten police helicopters in Nigeria, for example. SO, expecting states to suddenly be able to pony up money for a decent police force is asking for too much...unless you want a state police force that is lightly armed and drives hiluxes
States like Zamfara and Kebbi for example...the have bandit problems. That means they need even more than what the Nigeria police has, and it is going to cost a lot of money
States like Bayelsa too..yes they get oil money via derivation, but they need a very strong state police to combat pipeline vandals and piracy...meaning they have to have better weapons and boats than the pirates and vandals.
Note that I am not opposed to state police. I am just showing you guys that it is not that simple to set up. If we lie to ourselves that there is money to do it, we will end up with state police forces that can't do anything about crime at all. i get your point. i'm of the opinion of a police force thats community driven, something like sheriffs. all armed most especially in rural areas. Their houses, is their offices. They should be the first responders, whether theyre paid 40k or minimum wage. State police wont do much presently particularly in the north |
Politics › Re: Why Nothern Leaders Are Against State Police by Gotocourt: 8:54am On Mar 05 |
nairalanda1: 1.Sharia police, or hisbah is unarmed and basically would be wiped out by any bandits...they can't investigate crime, or enforce an arrest on a criminal for stealing. And so forth. They are equivalent to the varied enforcement agencies that exist in many of our states.
2.Also, no state can afford state police, even the christian ones. If you want state police so that the christian states can prevent terrorist movement, be prepared to pay heavy duty taxes for the funding, or forget about it. No state, even Lagos, has the ability to fund a proper police force for city policing...talkless of a police force that would be expert in fighting the bandits in the bush
Such a police force would need drones, heavy machine guns, helicopters, armoured vehicles, all terrain vehicles, and very good rifles..and all that costs money. Note that they also need training facilites, and not just some glorified secondary school or something, good forensic laboratory, and crucially good records....and very good salaries and conditons of service.
In this country where most state budgets are tiny, state police no go work for now. You can call me bandit defender, or any other name, but me, I don't mind state police, but the problem again is...funding. is the federal police efficient? |

kettykin: Most of the Weapons China gave Iran were all intercepted, it seems Chinese reputation as a world military power is just Hype, this war really opened my eyes as to who is in charge. Even the Russians are just mute . Japan seems to have the read the whole script a long time ago and are unconcerned.
My biggest shock is Dubai, how Dubai became very prone to a war in Iran is the biggest shock of my life , Dubai reminds me of Lagos , Nigeria should not attempt going to war in the next 1000 years because all it takes for an enemy country is to strike Lagos and the proverbial Nigerian economy will go comatose The main issue is that, USA is the one keeping the gulf countries. Terrorist and Iran would have run over them a long time ago. Lots of Arabs don't like their monarchs whom are the ruling class. |
