Certifications

They say school expand our horizon…
Malcolm X must have been deaf,
For he dropped out,
And got caged for burglary
At twenty.
And world renowned for
What he learnt in prison.

Sixteen years of my life
Was taken by the institutions: “Schools.”
I’m looking for job,
And I’m renowned for job hunts.
“X” spent seven years in prison,
Made a hero, icon, and history
So that we can’t forget him.

Father already abandoned me,
Believes he wasted money
Sending me to schools...
Mother, paranoid
Thinks the witch
From fathers household got me.

Dr. Patrick the therapist
Believes it's the weed,
The gin, and the opium
Addiction
That's done me.

But Pastor says,
It’s deliverance that I need,
Yes, I agree,
“That deliverance
From the craze of Certifications
That forbids, mar,
And eventually kills our creativity.”
But one thing I know,
Education isn't a function of certification.

*LIFE*

Life is full
Of times that are hard,
Hard as rock…
Prickling thorns.
Burns, and bruises,
Scratches, and the scrapes,
Tears… cuts, and stabs
Leaving you with scars.

Life is full of memories:
Mixed…
Pleasants, and the unpleas,”
Leaving your mouth feel like
Herbs and the sweets,
Lollipop and Citrus Peels,
Like a two way street.

Life is like a rodeo,
You won't be needing a radio
On a unprotected bronc riding,
It’s a "rough stock" ‘vents,
From team roping,
Tie to the down roping,
Multiple bull riding,
To the steer wrestling.

Life is like a bitch,
She pisses
In your face when drunk
And do you over.

Life is like a diamond,
It deals you according to your faith!
Such is LIFE.
