Monrovia - Liberia announced on Monday that would soon receive doses of an experimental Ebola drug and give it to two sick doctors, making them the first Africans to receive some of the scarce treatment in a spiralling outbreak. The US government confirmed that it had put Liberian officials in touch with the maker of ZMapp, and referred additional questions to Mapp Biopharmaceutical Inc. http://www.newzville.com/2014/08/federal-government-requests-ebola-drug.html?m=1 Freetown - Eight Chinese medical workers who treated patients suffering from the deadly Ebola virus have been placed in quarantine in Sierra Leone, the Chinese ambassador in Freetown said on Monday. "Six Chinese doctors and one nurse as well as five local nurses treated an Ebola patient at the Jui Hospital who later died of the virus," said ambassador Zhao Yanbo. "All of them who came in contact with the patient have been quarantined for the past two weeks under observation while the hospital has been fumigated and closed temporarily." Yanbo said another Chinese doctor who treated an Ebola patient at the Kingharman Road Hospital had also been quarantined. Sierra Leone is one of the worst-hit nations with 298 deaths in the outbreak which has claimed at least 932 lives in four west African nations, and infected more than 1 700 people, according to the World Health Organisation. |
http://detutor8..com Hong Kong - A Nigerian man who was quarantined after he showed Ebola-like symptoms while travelling to Hong Kong has tested negative for the deadly virus. The southern Chinese city government said in a statement late on Sunday that the man, 32, had "tested negative for Ebola virus upon preliminary laboratory testing". "In the past one month... he had no contact history with sick persons or animals and did not visit health-care facilities. He is currently in stable condition," a government spokesperson said in the statement. The man arrived in Hong Kong from Lagos, Nigeria's most populous city, via Dubai on Thursday and was hospitalised on Sunday after vomiting and having diarrhoea. Concerns are growing over the potential spread of the disease which has claimed nearly 1 000 lives in west Africa this year. Hong Kong, a densely populated city of some seven million people, is particularly alert to the spread of viruses after Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome killed almost 300 people eleven years ago. On 30 July the Hong Kong government said it would quarantine as a precaution all people from Ebola infected areas who showed any symptom of the disease such as fever, vomiting or diarrhoea. Last week a woman who showed Ebola-like symptoms after returning from a holiday in Kenya tested negative for the virus. Nigeria along with Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia have been hardest hit by the latest epidemic, which the WHO has called the worst outbreak of its kind in four decades. Nigeria - the most populous nation in Africa - confirmed two new cases Fon riday of the often fatal haemorrhagic disease, bringing the total number of infections to nine, including two deaths. The World Health Organisation has declared the epidemic an international health emergency, as countries scramble to impose measures to prevent any spread of a contagion that has claimed almost 1 000 lives. |
Kigali - Rwanda has placed a German student with Ebola-like symptoms in isolation, and was waiting for test results checking for the deadly tropical disease, the health ministry said late on Sunday. "Samples from the suspected case have been sent for testing to an international accredited laboratory for approval, results will be available in 48 hours," the health ministry said in a statement. The patient is the first to be tested in Rwanda since the outbreak in west Africa. Minister of Health Agnes Binagwaho said the patient was a German medical student, who had recently spent time in Liberia. He had a fever and malaria but for "100% security" Rwanda had quarantined him, until test results - expected within two days - were back, she said. Ebola has claimed nearly 1 000 lives in west Africa in the worst outbreak in four decades, prompting the World Health Organisation last week to declare the epidemic a global health emergency. Like other nations across east Africa, Rwanda said it had put in place measures against the deadly virus. "Surveillance systems and emergency management systems have been established," the health ministry said. http://detutor8..com "Health workers have been trained across the country and are vigilant." |
Nigerians have taken to various social media sites to solicit for President Barrack Obama’s support for the Nigerian nurse who allegedly contracted the deadly Ebola disease. The Nigerian nurse, Justina Ejelonu was said to have contracted the deadly disease after treating a Liberian, Patrick Sawyer, who came into the country with the disease few days ago. Although the Liberian has died from the pawns of the disease, however many health officials who attended to him have been quarantined while others are on the watch while Ejelonu Justina was discovered to have been infected with the deadly virus. Nigerians however, have taken to the White House website and also social websites like Facebook and Twitter, petitioning President Barrack Obama to release the vaccine called Zmapp, Read more http://www.newzville.com/2014/08/nigerians-beg-obama-for-vaccine.html?m=1 |
imagine the idiot!! hope you had a good laugh? Something as serious as Ebola, you'll just decide to spread a false rumour like one little kid. I think you should classify yourself among those from the post above |
With the quick spread of the deadly Ebola virus, there emerge numerous theories on the disease origin and the methods of its treatment. While one of the recent rumours that went viral among Nigerians said Ebola could be cured with "hot water and salt", the scientist from Bristol University claimed that the virus could have come from space. According to The Mirror, Ashley Dale alleges that there is "every chance" the bug could reach the Earth on a meteorite. Speaking with Daily Star the UK expert said: "Ebola could have come from outside this planet. We have meteorites from Mars landing on our planet every year, and we know bacteria can survive the journey. There is every chance Ebola arrived on this planet from somewhere in space." http://www.newzville.com/2014/08/drake-thinks-rihanna-is-devil.html?m=1 Delicate rapping puppydog Drake seems to think his ex-girlfriend Rihanna is the devil, now, or something, or something like that, anyway, or something. Basically he projected a weird video at a recent gig and it kind of makes it look like he is saying that Rihanna — who is, as far as we know, a human popstar with a string of hits and a raunchy reputation — is the actual devil. Who, to be fair, also has a raunchy reputation, but in a different way. (Although, that said, Rihanna did release seven albums in seven years, which does sort of suggest a paranormal stamina to recording club banger after club banger. Hmm. MAYBE DRAKE HAS A POINT ABOUT RIHANNA BEING THE DEVIL INCARNATE.) Anyway, as gossip website and humans-as-devils forum TMZ reports, Drake’s latest appearance at OVO Fest in Toronto saw him project a massive, fiery ‘6’ behind him on stage — swiftly followed by a flash of his ex’s face. He then showed two more 6s, then did a rap. “It's unclear what turned Rihanna from Drake's girl into a satanic symbol,” TMZ says. “Drake has trashed her here and there, but it's one thing to have beef with your ex, and another to call her out as the devil.” Fair. Rihanna is yet to respond to rumours that she is the actual devil, presumably because she is too busy sipping a pint of lava as though it were a kale smoothie and lashing the backs of non-believers down to mince.

http://www.newzville.com/2014/08/justin-bieber-only-parties-with-hot.html?m=1 Orlando Bloom’s mustachioed punchbag Justin Bieber has reportedly refused to dance, party or generally interact with any non-hot girls while living it up in Ibiza. Yep: as a source said, Bieber angered more practical-looking clubbers by arrogantly standing in the middle of Amnesia nightclub, hand-picking beautiful girls from the crowd — then inviting them up to the VIP area to dance around him while laughing. As if he’s some big massive famous popstar, or something. But he angered some by telling his entourage to tell them they weren’t hot enough to join him. Hello, hotties. Bad luck, notties. As a source said: “Justin was causing trouble by getting his entourage to walk around the main club floor. They told girls to come with them if they wanted to party with Bieber. “But some were told only they could come along because their friends were not ‘hot enough’. This is his 'you are not hot' face “He didn’t even seem to talk to them. He just sort of stood in the middle as they danced around. It was pretty strange.” But maybe that’s because Justin Bieber’s mind was on another girl: that intoxicating, all-encompassing elixir that is 58-year-old Kardashi-master Kris Jenner. The hot new couple posed together at a party over the weekend, with Justin adding the resulting snap to Instagram with the caption “@kendalljenner @kyliejenner who’s your daddy”. #TrueDetectiveSeason2 Wait, does… does that mean Kris Jenner is the new Selena to Justin’s Justin? Does this mean Bruce Jenner and Justin Bieber will have a fist fight in a Spanish restaurant in circa two years’ time? Please, please: we are not spiritual people. But there must be some forces beyond our understanding in this universe who we can pray to to make this happen.

Kim Kardashian took to Instagra— sorry, wait, we’re just getting a memo. ALRIGHT, LET’S START OVER: Someone we’ve never heard of called ‘Kim West’ took to Instagram last night to share her latest passport photo, confirming that she was changing her name from ‘Kim Kardashian’. God, this is just like Cheryl Fernandez-Versini all over again. Anyway, last night Kim [INSERT SURNAME HERE] graced Instagram with an insanely glam shot of her — all eyebrows, pout and cleavage — along with the caption, “New passport pic #Mrs.West #NameChange”. Here’s what we can gather from the information presented : i. Kim still hasn’t figured out that if you put punctuation in a hashtag then it defaults to just the characters before the punctuation mark and so she has not tagged this photo into the wider pool of Instagram images marked ‘MrsWest’ and has instead just tagged it ‘Mrs’. Come on, Kim. Social Media 101. ii. Kim is changing her name from Kim Kardashian to her married name, Kim West — or at least she is on her passport, anyway. Hell will literally freeze over before she drops ‘Kardashian’ from her professional name, because why would you do that. iii. The regulations for passport photos in the US are wildly different from the UK because we personally got a passport photo rejected twice because the dude at Snappy Snaps was using too much flash and look, here you can actually see some of Kim’s actual boob. This feels illegal, somehow. Regulation-flouting, at least. iv. Even Kim wasn’t hugely confident she’d make it past the dreaded 72 days of marriage, seeing as she waited until Day 74 to fill out her passport renewal form #makeuthink And that’s about everything, the end. http://www.newzville.com/2014/08/kim-kardashian-celebrates-74-solid-days.html?m=1

http://www.newzville.com/2014/07/michelle-obama-blood-of-africa-runs.html?m=1 Washington - First lady Michelle Obama embraced her family's African roots in a speech on Wednesday, telling a group of young Africans that the "blood of Africa" runs through her veins as she urged changing traditional beliefs on the worth of educating women. Her husband had shied away from discussing his African heritage in his own remarks to the 500 Africans finishing a six-week Washington leadership fellowship on Monday, referencing his Kenyan father only once and in the question-and-answer session. But Michelle Obama said as an African American woman, her discussion with the African youth was "deeply personal". "The roots of my family tree are in Africa," the first lady told the cheering crowd. "My husband's father was born and raised in Kenya. Members of our extended family still live there. I have had the pleasure of travelling to Africa many times over the years, including four trips as first lady, and I have brought my mother and my daughters along whenever I can." "The blood of Africa runs through my veins, and I care deeply," Obama said, addressing her listeners as her "brothers" and "sisters". Three months before congressional elections that could determine the fate of much of President Obama's platform, Michelle Obama's popularity remains high while her husband's has sunk. The White House is making women's empowerment a theme in a Washington African leaders summit next week. Michelle Obama said problems with girls' education often stemmed from traditional "attitudes and beliefs" that exist even in the United States and lead to issues such as the gender pay gap and an underrepresentation of women in leadership. She said men worldwide needed to "look into their hearts and souls and ask if they truly view women as their equals". "I am who I am today because of the people in my family, particularly the men in my family, who valued me and invested in me from the day I was born," Obama said. "And as I grew up, the men who raised me set a high bar for the type of men I'd allow into my life - which is why I went on to marry a man who had the good sense to fall in love with a woman who was his equal, to treat me as such - a man who supports and reveres me, and who supports and reveres our daughters as well," Obama said.
