If Maresca was not an instant hit, and was losing 1 game and drawing 2 for every 3 and 4 respectively, we would all have been saying he's bedding in, considering only Championship experience, but he needs to pick up the pace asap.

Go look at the expectations of all football pundits after Maresca was hired. Every single one of them expected Chelsea to finish worse than Poch.

So where's all that expectation gone? I know where. Maresca came in and won 10 on a bounce, finishing top of the league in ECL with exceptional performances and squad management. And now, naturally, expectations have adjusted accordingly.
