Many of the students applying for 2017 UTME would like to apply for admission to an institution where they stand a chance of being admitted. Following observations, most candidates who apply for admission into over-competitive institutions like UNILORIN, UNILAG, UNIBEN etc. end up not gaining admission. So instead of applying to these over-competitive ones, why not try these other institutions that are less competitive and can give you a better chance of being admitted. So based on last years statistics, below are the list of schools that are less competitive (meaning they do not have a high number of applications); Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Modibo Adamawa University of Technology Federal University, Otuoke, Bayelsa State Federal University, Lokoja Federal University, Gashua, Yobe State Federal University, Gusau, Zamfara State Federal University, Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State Federal University Of Petroleum Resources, Effurun Federal University, Kashere Federal University, Wukari Federal University, Oye-Ekiti Federal University, Birnin-Kebbi Federal University, Lafia Federal University, Ndufu-Alike Federal University, Dutse Source: http://www.guru9ja.com.ng/2017/03/universities-you-can-easily-secure-admission-2017/ |

We understand that ongoing 2017 UTME registration is experiencing some delay going by that fact that just few candidates have been able to register. One major reason for this being the fact that some candidates wait till they get to the registration centres before doing the necessary things they should have done before going to the centre. For instance, someone reported a case of candidates getting to the registration centres and expecting the operators to help them determine the course and institution of choice or determine the right UTME/O’level subject requirements. For crying out loud, this is something you should have done before going for your registration. To make the whole process faster and less stressful, we advise candidates to do the following before going to the different centres; 1. Download and complete the JAMB 2017 Registration Template. This will enable you determine the right choice of course, institution, UTME/O’level subjects before going to an Accredited registration centre. So you only have to present the template to the operators once you get there. This will help hasten the whole process. 2. Ensure you create you JAMB online profile before going to the centres. This will equally help hasten the process as the operators will not take extra time in creating your profile. 3. If you can get the e-pin from other outlets other than the registration centres, such as banks and JAMB Offices, with less stress, please do. That way, you will immediately proceed with the actual registration once you get to the accredited centres. The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that there will be a MOCK EXAMINATION before the conduct of the 2017 UTME. The Board will mount a mock examination in all the accredited CBT centres to prepare and familiarise INTERESTED Candidates with the CBT environment. Interested candidates are advised to indicate their interest in the mock examination during the registration process. The CBT Centres are allowed to collect through their (CBT Centres)bank accounts, a separate Seven Hundred Naira (₦700) only, for this exercise after notification of centre has been received by the Candidate. The payment for mock examination shall be made to the centres to which the candidate is assigned after the notification of assigned centres for the mock examination. No Association or body is permitted to run any mock examination on behalf of JAMB. NOTE: Do Not pay for Mock until JAMB assigns you to a CBT centre. You can do both DE and UTME this year. They are both different way of gaining admission into the University. UTME is to jambite as DE is to ND, NCE, HND and also any BSC holder who is willing to obtain another Degree. They can both take UTME and DE |
