EPILOGUE
Princess closed the Diary and smiled somewhat sadly. Dad died two years into her university life and left her with his library in which she found the diary, and turning it she found memories burned in her head in the book, and tears flooded her eyes. Fate was so cruel, it took her Dad away from her, but Dad still remained with her in spirit via his words that kept following her as a guide and companion. She had read the diary countless times, and each time she remembered the look on her Dad's face as Death took him away. He had said "I have done as Destiny sent me, it is up to you now, I go quickly but my words remain, Adieu."
Sometimes she believes her Dad is an angel, he just seemed to be sent into her life and left when he was done with her.

CHAPTER 9

EDUCATION AND LEARNING

I laid down on the bed and I was meditating. The week has been a busy one even for me and I had been involved in a lot of activities, so I took this rare opportunity to rest. It was only I and Princess at home, her mom was on call as usual.
Princess had been playing on the piano in the sitting room and I was enjoying the tune. We are a family of musicians, infact I and Baby clicked at a concert. I am a guitarist and play on the drums, I sing also. Baby is a singer and she sings soprano, she plays the piano also. Princess is no exception, she plays the piano, the violin and sings alto. Some days, we would gather at evenening in the 'music room' as we called the room I designed for music, we would then hold a small scale concert and compose music; these were holidays and breaks.
I suddenly stood up to go meet her in the living room and stood unnoticed for some minutes at the entrance till she stopped playing. I clapped as I entered fully and she looked back, shocked at my entrance. I spoke first,
"Roses are red
Violets are Blue
Lilies are White
And I love you."

"Dad, this one that you are composing poems all of a sudden, whats wrong?" Princess asked while blushing?
"I am in a poetic mood today and I wanna have a final talk with you before you leave for the university, it is concerning learning as a whole," I replied smiling.
"Okay Dad, sit down while I get you a bottle of water and a glass cup" Princess said as she stood up, she came back few minutes later with the items and placed them on the centre table in the sitting room. I poured myself a glass and sat back in the couch and relaxed myself as I got ready to speak. Princess sat is a couch opposite me and got ready to listen
"Princess, your education is a vital aspect in your life though it is not a do or die affair but it is like a lauch or kinda nitro that propels your movement forward on the lane of life. Education is not about going to school and getting taught by teachers, it is about 'getting educated' in any way, manner, or form and by anyone." I took a sip from the glass and continued
"My words are few but crucial. Pay attention to the flow of information around you and the channels by which the information is being received. This goes a long way in determining your thoughts, choices and decisions either consciously, unconsciously or subconsciously. Be conscious of what you take in or swallow, what you receive, learn or study has a way of affecting your mind and your actions. Learn to filter the information that passes through your mind. Be an active seeker of information and voraciously devour books and other sources of information. It goes a long way in helping you; reading. Reading can never be ecessive, you might not remember all you read but you grow familiar with the topic and its scope and have an idea of it while being able to discuss it with others confidently."
I stopped for a moment to refill my glass and naturally continued "Reading broadens your horizons and expands your mind capacity making you able to take in a lot of information and process them while having a result. Reading is a way of stretching your mind and it exercises your brain. Make it an effort to read, just read anything; don't be limited to school subjects, read wide; from astrology, arts, science, psychology, fiction, biographies and many others. You will be better for it if you take my advice. I love you dear." I concluded and stood up with my bottle of water intending to take it with me to my room.
"I love you too Dad, you've been the best friend I ever knew," Princess said and that marked the end of our discussion...

Actually few months later, Princess did go to the university, leaving me alone to further her education. She is gone and I won't be there with her any longer but my words shall remain with her forever as spirit and life. I've done my best and been a good father, I might not be the best but even Destiny bears me witness that I fulfilled my purpose as a Dad... Adieu.
