This is baseless as I read reviews too before getting the phone even when I had the option to switch after I returned the first one. Whatsapp works just fine and I installed from playstore

Not at all. I've returned the phone and picked up another one from a store around me. It's been almost a week and nothing like that. Phone runs smoothly on the current hyper OS

I get but that's not really the case. The Redmi 14c was a much better upgrade for the galaxy A03s I planned replacing it with. Just this app crashing issue spoilt the whole thing

I changed the region to Morocco and the update was able to go through. Something I found on Reddit. However, apps are still crashing after updating and rebooting several times

You only need the full recovery ROM. Hope the download didn't break at any point?

No it didn't break. I used WiFi instead mobile data

No, I used normal chrome browser for the download

Download ROM for your phone from miuirom.org

How to manually update..

Go to Settings > About phone > System update.

If tapping the 3-dot button shows the “Choose update package” option, click on that and choose the downloaded ROM from your internal storage or SD card. In case you don’t find the “Choose update package” option from the 3-dot menu, tap on the MIUI/hyperos logo inside the “System update” page several times. A prompt will then show that additional updater settings are now available. Now you can tap on Choose update package and select the MIUI/HyperOS update file

That’s it. The system will start decrypting the file and install it automatically for you. Wait for it to finish the process, which may take 10-30 mins

Data should be on during the decryption process

Common problem with this particular A05 as I've seen reviews online. I guess it's a software issue and subsequent update from Samsung should fix it
