You will be redirected to facebook You may need to attempt it more than once. Patiently wait for the no of likes to increase to be sure your vote counted. Thank you and God bless you. Here is the Story ' the other woman ' "Has he had dinner? Is he spending the night? Do i still make him happy? Did he miss me? Does he still love me? He's been distant lately. Has he been with her?" She wondered silently, looking upon his handsome face as he walked into her apartment. His phone rang, he left the room to answer the call. She followed him with her eyes thinking "He doesn't want me to listen to his conversation? Who is he speaking with? Why is he using hushed tones? Why is he laughing? What's so funny? Is she making him laugh? He returned to the living room and sits down to watch television. A message notification arrived. He quickly started typing. He smiled at the screen and continued typing furiously. She stole a glance at him thinking "Who is making him smile? Who is he talking to? Who's in the picture he's looking at? Is he chatting with her?" As if on cue, he dropped his phone, to use the bathroom. She reached out, picked the phone up and inputs the password. It's the wrong password, he has changed it again. She returned to her seat exasperated thinking "Does she know his passwords?" After an hour of small talk, and a kiss on the cheek, he left the apartment. She sat crying at the foot of the door as she said "He is the love of my life but I can't continue to live like this. I must leave him. All of this is driving me crazy. I can't eat. I can't sleep." She wiped a tear "He's still in love with the other woman. She is his Wife."

Lovely! Let's trade votes. Interested? My link is https://prize.etisalat.com.ng/flash-fiction/voteall.php?id=2454drizzit: I am a passenger on a journey I never bargained for. Thrown into the world to drift down the stream of life till I have run the scale of living and sounded every tone, drunk the purest vintage, tasted all the cooks, heard the finest music, read the rarest books and tasted all the pleasures that this journey can offer me. “Hey mister. You are now a man”. Words I can hear the sun whisper as it sees my bones grow old and weary, passengers I have brought along on this journey and the deep etched lines of age marking my once handsome face. 1,768 weeks around the sun has taken its toil on me. I have learned to appreciate and be wary of drivers, stragglers and hitchhikers alike on this perilous trip. I cherish the memories of my pastel colors from my childhood which I thought were not as black as my soul. I am not a babe any more and it brings grief to my heart. I wish I can have the naïve heart of my early days. However, middle age creeps up me. Who can fathom the soul that will emerge from another three decades around the sun? I am sure of a few things. I will love to lay alone and unmolested where the vultures do not rave while my eternal journey around Helios continues.
Guys abeg make una epp me.....na just one vote....one....make we all win

Such an interesting story. I would like to trade votes with you if interested. My link is https://prize.etisalat.com.ng/flash-fiction/voteall.php?id=2454Thank you silvoice: "Ooh CREATOR! why is this woman so wicked," EMBRYO yelled. The liquid splashed on his face the fifth time with thunderous spark. "You're wicked," he cursed, and swam to a corner of the uterus. The alcohol engulfed womb quaked with torrent. " What's my mother doing up there- she want's to killed me?" "She's drinking Gin," Creator replied. "Heh! Don't ask me question again, I'm done with you." " why?" "You chose a wrong woman," Creator declared and disappeared. From his position, Embryo opened his sensory eyes and saw MARY on a chair, with a bottle of beer atop, and a half filled cup. "Chai! My mother: a drunker?" Now in shock, Embryo fainted.
Two weeks after, at about 10.am, a rough hand of a gynecologist on Mary's stomach, woke him up. Again, he watched as this doctor ran her fingers across Mary's protruding tummy, occasionally blinding his view. Now relaxed, he listened to their conversation. "Avoid alcoholic drinks and don't take any medication without doctor's prescription." He heard the doctor advised Mary. Embryo sighed, as he realized that this good-for-nothing kind of a mother had already done much damage to his health.
It's three months since he began this journey. Mary his mother, a drunker, smoker and notorious street fighter, had refused to obey pregnancy precaution. Again, Embryo went into coma.
The third day of the eighth month, Mary was in severe pain, and was rushed to a maternity. Inside her womb, the male child panned radially to the left, as he struggled for breath, with an alcohol damaged limb. He saw JOHN, his Father, standing perplexed; and a confused Midwife, with Mary on a bed, struggling for survival. Go-ossh! He dropped on the flannel bed: a dangerous silence that ensued, announced his death. Maidens Release
I took a Knife from the dressing table, Its sharp blade glistened in the morning light, From my mind a dark twisted tale revealed itself in a fable. Perched on the Kitchen sink I stared under the kitchen light. I knew what I was about to do but something held me back.
I snuck a peek at my reflection by the window. Vain thoughts trickled through my consciousness. Would I look beautiful in death, would I give them a show? Would he even care or would he look away at my grossness. Slowly I pulled up my blouse, sharp bruises a reminder of his blows. My frame once plump and robust was all but skin and bones. The consequence of several days without food and water.
Like a prisoner I was trapped behind these walls, Cut off from the outside world, with wrists bound and without a phone. My sins were unknown and my punishment meted out like water gushing out from its fall. The wrong words spoken, mis-interpreted looks given was all it took to force his hand.

Xenophobia
James ran as he heard the screaming crowd coming for him, right into the dirty bush he ran, previous days he would watch his steps to avoid stepping into human feces today there was no such luxury. Fear pulsated through his blood stream propelling his legs to move at an alarming speed. The wind whispered as he felt it’s touch, he felt the hot air wafting through his nose. Their chants roared in his ears, their aggressive voices rising in unison , his senses unconsciously calculating their distance they were closing in on him and fast.
Oh such small dreams, to complete a small structure to house his family , to buy his aged grandmother a wheel chair to ease her back pain, to start his own family, or such small dreams , they seemed a life time away as he jumped over a large pile of tree trunks , the one thought in his mind right now was to survive this savages.
They ran, blood flowing through their veins their eyes red with blood lust , their belligerence stimulated by cheap alcohol, ignorance and crack , their prey maneuvered through the bush jumping over broken tree stumps and mounts of dirt, his tenacity angered them, they were close enough now to see the soles of his canvas agilely maintaining the distance between them, the intruder, the job taker, they would catch him, they would tie him, they would beat him with sticks and stones, with their machetes and knives they would carve him and before he took his last breath they would douse him with petrol and burn him, with this ongomazi they would know, the others who came in thousands to steal their jobs, their women, their money, they would know to leave their precious jewels alone.

Hi Nkyotk, interested in exchanging votes. My link is https://prize.etisalat.com.ng/flash-fiction/voteall.php?id=2454 let me know if interested. NkyOtk: I held his hand to my face. His sweet, cold hands. I had fallen in love with those hands from the first day I held them. He’d fallen in love with me too, wholly and completely; it was his love that took his life. Actually, it was me. I took his life. The tears choked me as I remembered. It was during our latest fight. Why call them quarrels when they always ended up as brutal fights. Leaving the ripped clothes and bruised skin to sing of his exploits. I was never one to go down easy. This was one of those times someone ended up in the hospital; but for the first time it wasn’t me. He was screaming as he hauled me against the wall. He always got so angry. I dragged myself behind the couch where I could temporarily be out of harm’s way. With whatever was left of my swollen eye I saw Eze, his father’s shouting had woken him again. He had seen me on the floor and was walking quietly towards me. “Answer me, you prostitute!” he shouted. I could only tolerate the pain long enough to hold out my arm to Eze. He clutched his teddy as he tearfully walked towards me. Confusion and pain telling on his four year old face. “I’ll open those deaf ears for you today!” He said and the next thing I saw were things flying over my very temporary fortress. First the hardback dictionary, then a lamp that cut me on my leg and then the gold plated award that hit Eze right in the head. His father cried when the doctor let us say goodbye. All I could do was squeeze his sweet, cold hands.

Hi Anthony, interesting story. Would you like to trade votes with me? My link is https://prize.etisalat.com.ng/flash-fiction/voteall.php?id=2454. Let me know if interested. Thank you anthonydunamis: THE SHEPHERD WHO GOT AWAY
Surging through the air with Abhoni beside me, I wondered why the urge to mate was so strong in humans. As if he heard my thoughts, he said, "The Creator put it within them, to make them obey the instructions given to the First Two in the Garden. But we now use it to weaken them, because there are spiritual implications."
Spiritual implications- yes, I knew about that. If two humans mated without the midora- or ‘marriage’ as they called it- there were consequences. This Shepherd we were following had broken the rules…
The Khrona with us suddenly began to shriek and flap their wings loudly. An extremely bright glow, pulsating with a level of energy I had never seen before, had appeared above the vehicle. "What is that?" I wondered, mesmerized by the enthralling power of this Force. Abhoni did not open his mouth, but I still heard him. "The Control Centre of the Elect is trying to communicate. If this Shepherd listens and his strength is restored, all our efforts here would have been for nothing."
The dark cloud of Khrona suddenly surged forward, as they tried to disrupt the communication between the Control Centre and the Shepherd. Amidst the cacophony, I began to hear a voice. It was whispery, yet very distinct. The Shepherd was being persuaded to return under the protection of the Final Sacrifice. As I waited to see what would be the outcome, Abhoni said sharply, ‘Prepare yourself, this is the decisive moment.’
Barely had he finished speaking when a powerful blast of spiritual energy surged from within the car. The spiritual strength of the Shepherd had been restored! Suddenly, all the Khrona were blown away like a black mist and I found myself spinning downwards, back into Hades with Abhoni.

Hi David. Would you like to trade votes with me? My link is https://prize.etisalat.com.ng/flash-fiction/voteall.php?id=2454. Let me know if interested. Thank you Davidbanky: To Die A Death
He felt the beads of sweat running down his face, back and calves before the tackle that brought him down. He tumbled on the gravel road as he hit the ground face first. Hot liquid ran down his nose as he made to sit up. A quick thud at the base of his skull jettisoned such movement. Someone grabbed the stack of old tires sitting in the gutter and threw them on him. He felt cold and pungent liquid splash down his back.
He made to move but the blow had paralyzed him. He could hear himself breathing. He could hear his mother’s warnings. Her voice, strenuously berating him began to fill his head. She was swearing and gesticulating in her usual manner of condemnation and damnation.
He had to get up. He had to put up some defense. But the blow lithified him firmly to the gravel. Suddenly, he was hot. Very hot. Too hot. He opened his eyes in one last reflex and he could make out yellow flames around him.
They were yellow and they were red and they were hot. His flesh gave out crispy crackling sounds as the flames, yellow and red, danced a tango on his skin. The pungent smell was gradually replaced by charcoal. Smell like charcoal from the stove of the fish seller at the Monday market.
The heat made his eyes hurt. He closed them and with that a raging inferno developed inside his abdomen.
He felt a torched wooden stave driving up his throat. The inferno had spread to his chest, up his throat and into his head. A tear sneaked out the corner of his right eye, closest to the gravel.
With one final meek breath, he died.

Hi sirhamilton, lovely story. Would you like to trade votes with me? My story was nominated as well. Here is the link. https://prize.etisalat.com.ng/flash-fiction/voteall.php?id=2454Thanks sirhamilton: I once read a quote that said something like: “It doesn’t matter how many 'No's' you get from men, all you need is just one 'Yes' from God”. And it made a lasting impression on me. On days like today, the overwhelming depression I had to stave off begged the question, ‘’when am I going to get a yes?’’. As if in response to the rhetoric, my phone beeped announcing the arrival of a new text message. As my fingers tapped their way into my inbox I was certain it was the service provider advertising a product or service. My brows shot up in sudden interest as my brain registered it was a customized message.
A smile slowly creased my cheeks when I read the content of the text message for the second time; the interview was scheduled three days from today, I noted. When the security guard had asked me to leave my CV with him I had reluctantly agreed but immediately forgotten about it after I did
***
As I flung myself on the bed, try as I could, it was impossible to banish the memories from the interview out of my head. I had somehow managed to forget every answer to the likely interview questions I had memorized the previous night. I practically stuttered my way through the interview.
TWO NIGHTS LATER
On the verge of sleeping off, an email jolted me to reality. My sleep-filled eyes lit up as they skimmed through the contents of the mail. They immediately became misty when they saw for the first time who the sender of the mail was.
‘’ I Finally Got a Yes’’. This thought was still bouncing haphazardly off the walls of my mind when I slept off.
