Bleep: I've always hated that car's exterior design. Not sweet at all. However the more recent ones, I think 2007 to date looks more attractive. You can buy this one if you're more concerned bout performance and not exterior looks.

missionma: @Poster there two different thing in buying a car. First is to afford the purchase cost price and second is to afford the maintenance cost (as in keeping it on the road). You should think deep and ask the right people the right questions. If you are an hustler as you said, think to what purpose you need the car. Avalon is best of Toyota Sedan and you can not compromise its class, think of its fuel consumption and maintenance as compared to corolla or camry. That's my advice for you.

chibabe3: I would rather advise you to go for a corolla if you are not so bouyant as the fuel consumption is on the high side. The car is actually good but the joy of having one is the ability refuel the ride without much complaint.

The Corollas that i admire are the recent models which is way high of my budget

Syenite: Except if u are hell bent on buying an avalon, the same amount u will get dat 2001/2002 avalon can fetch u a 2004-06 Camry Or a 2004/05 Accord and am sure u know dat d newer d better.

God forbid that God Forsaken Big Daddy that loose balance on speed, i have 3 friends who use to have the camry big daddy, they all had a right off accident with the car all complained about the same reason for there crash, lost of balance on speed, will never advice any young guy to buy big daddy or big for nothing whatever name they call it, also i prefer my Toyota Brands , i have never been a fan of Honda, but thanks anyways for the input, thanks

chiebube: If you are buying a used one, change the timing belt with an OEM product. There are a lot of sub-standard timing belts around. If u want to buy a naija used one, pls do a scan after your normal test drive and inspection to know if there are hidden faults

If you can afford to buy an avalon, you can afford to fuel it. Fuel consumption for V6 engines is not excessive as a lot of people think though its more than I4 (4-cylinder).

bravolad: It's a 3.0l V6 with 18/24 mpg. A friend of mine used it at some point. He did not have any problem with it. It also shares parts with some other Toyota models so in terms of parts availability, you are pretty much covered.

Utmost importance, you need to know at what mileage to change your timing belt because I think it's an interference engine. Get a Carfax report to determine when it was changed and the history of use.

Do your servicing regularly and no probs. On another thought you need to budget money for fuel. Na full tank you go dey buy now not N1000
