These lead to the evolution of 3G (UMTS) networks. This course gives you the perfect understanding of 3G networks and its mode of operation. The course also covers the modules of GSM engineering.

• Evolution of Mobile communication.
• Features of GSM and GPRS network Architecture
• GSM and GPRS network components (MS, TC, BTS, BSC, BSS, OMC, MSC, GMSC, PSTN NSS etc)
• GSM terrestrial interfaces (Um, A, A-ter, Abis etc)
• Channels on the air interface (Physical and Logical channels)
• Radio interference optimization (power control and interference)
• Call setup, Hand over and Call termination.
• UMTS network architecture (UE, Node B, RNC, RNS, and UMTC etc)
• UMTS network interfaces (Uu, LuB, LuR, LuCS, LuPS etc)
• UMTS and UTRAN
