Name-dropping is the practice of mentioning important people or institutions within a conversation, story, song, online identity, or other communication.

Nigerian music these days is not complete without the artiste name dropping the producer of the song he or she is performing. While some producers have a pre-recorded name-drop, some prefer it when the artiste shout them out
