The MLS has more depth. In the long run it will have more sustainable quality. The Saudi Pro is fueled by petro dollars and resembles the Japanese and later Chinese football league experiments of two decades and a decade ago respectively where government pumped huge amounts of resources into the leagues but the maths didn't add up and the money eventually dried up leaving quality languishing very much where it previously was.

Something tells me the Saudi Pro league is more or less a PR push to get the popularity of the game up at home and acceptance overseas ahead of their staging of the World Cup in 2034. Once that is done and dusted and the great stars of today are retired, they will pull the money plug and the league will return to where it once was. Already the Saudi government is gradually pulling back from direct club sponsorship and I guess no thanks to CR7's tirade a while ago.
