PoliticsLagos Denies Return Of Monthly Sanitation, Movement Restrictions by Hugetase(op): 7:31am On Jul 18, 2024
The Lagos State Government on Wednesday stated that it has not re-introduced the monthly environmental sanitation and is not starting any movement restriction by July.

The Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, stated that those behind the report are mischief makers who are keen on confusing residents.

This was contained in a statement by the ministry’s Director of Public Affairs, Kunle Adeshina.

Wahab urged all residents to disregard the content of the viral fake news and go about their lawful business endeavour, adding that there will be no restriction of movements on the last Saturday of July as erroneously included in the fake news.

The commissioner explained that what Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced on Sunday during a sanitation sensitisation exercise at Campos playground Lagos Island was that the state will start a weekly community-based sensitisation and awareness exercise that will involve all residents.

“The governor also stated that State Government officials will lead from the front every week by going round to join residents in voluntarily cleaning their environment while preaching the message,” he said.

Wahab added that at no time did the governor make a pronouncement that the monthly exercise and restriction would start in July or any other month for now.

The commissioner urged all residents to imbibe the culture of cleaning their surroundings all the time and not wait until the government declares a particular month for the commencement of sanitation or restriction of movement.

AutosDon't Overlook These Crucial Steps: What To Do After Replacing Camshaft Sensor by Hugetase(op): 4:21am On Jul 18, 2024
The Importance of the Camshaft Sensor

Monitoring the camshaft's rotation allows the engine's computer to precisely control fuel injection and ignition timing for maximum power, efficiency and emissions performance. The camshaft sensor keeps track of the camshaft's position by reading its lobes or teeth and relaying that information to the engine control unit (ECU).

Signs of a Failing Camshaft Sensor

There are several warning signs that the camshaft sensor may be failing and in need of replacement, including:
- Check engine light
- Hard starting issues
- Rough idle
- Hesitation or power loss during acceleration
- Engine misfires
- Poor fuel economy
- Emissions test failure

The Replacement Process

When replacing the camshaft sensor, the typical process involves locating the old sensor, disconnecting the battery, unbolting the sensor from its mount, disconnecting the wiring, and installing the new sensor in reverse order. Refer to the vehicle's service manual for model-specific instructions.

What To Do After Replacing Camshaft Sensor

The camshaft position sensor is a vital component in modern vehicles that provides critical data to the engine computer about the position and timing of the camshaft. When this sensor fails, it needs to be replaced to restore proper engine operation. But the job isn't done after simply swapping out the old sensor for a new one - there are important next steps to ensure everything functions correctly.

Post-Replacement To-Do List

Verify Proper Installation
Double-check that the new camshaft sensor is securely mounted and positioned properly with tight wiring connections. Any looseness can cause operating issues.

Reconnect the Battery
If the battery was disconnected during the replacement procedure, remember to reconnect the negative battery cable.

Initiate Reset/Relearn Procedure
Some vehicle models require a reset or relearn process after replacing the camshaft sensor to allow the engine computer to adapt to the new component. Consult the service manual.

Clear Diagnostic Codes
Use an OBD-II scan tool to check for any diagnostic trouble codes related to the old camshaft sensor and clear them from the system.

Operational Test
Start the engine and observe that it idles and runs smoothly without any warning lights or abnormal noises/vibrations.

Test Drive
Take the vehicle for a short test drive to verify its performance under load. Any lingering issues like misfires, hesitation or power loss could indicate another problem.

Monitoring Period
Over the subsequent days and weeks of driving, keep an eye out for any recurring drivability issues or warning lights that could necessitate further diagnosis related to the camshaft sensor system.

When Reprogramming is Needed

There are certain scenarios where the new camshaft sensor may need to be reprogrammed or recalibrated by a professional technician, such as after an engine computer update, installing a different brand of sensor, or making significant engine modifications. However, reprogramming is usually not required for a straight sensor replacement using an OEM part on an otherwise unmodified engine.

By following these important steps after replacing the camshaft sensor, you can have confidence that this critical engine management component has been properly installed and prepared to provide accurate data to the engine computer for reliable performance.

EducationThe 3 Pathways To Getting A High-paying Job by Hugetase(op): 4:03am On Jul 18, 2024
Dear Young Nigerian, there are only 3 ways that I know, to get a 'well-paying' job in Nigeria.

Loads of us claim to be searching for jobs, but, we do not fall into any of these 3 categories.

In my opinion, if you are more aware of these 3 categories, you will decide very quickly in life if you can get a 'well-paying' job or settle for an odd job or venture into entrepreneurship.

1. Fresh graduate jobs- You are no more than 27/28 years old; you are a smart graduate who made some good grades out of school. You are competitive enough to write entry-level tests and pass. You speak and write very well, your IQ level is above average, you have some basic IT skills. You are what we call, a sharp young person.
This is the first way.

2. Experienced hire jobs - You started a career as a fresh graduate some years ago. You have grown in career and experience. You have good knowledge and experience in a particular field. You are able to change jobs, in your field, accross different companies. The more you move, the more you earn. Each new job offers a higher position and more earnings. You are growing nicely in your career and heading to the top. Between 40/45 years, your ability to move accross jobs may reduce, except it is for very executive roles; so you might begin to plan a nice exit from career. You command official cars and all sorts of official pegs.
This is the 2nd category.

3. Skilled hire - you are not in the category of 1 or 2 above. You simply developed a very highly sought skill and got into the career market. For example: you became an Instagram genius and got a job as a social media manager in a bank. Your skill is in high demand. More and more companies are seeking for you. They dont even care if you had a 3rd class in school. Your job is based on results. You have a record of getting 20,000 people to signup a form in one week. Your results speak for you. People even call you often to grab some side kicks. A lot of tech guys fall here.
This is the 3rd category.

So, my dear brother that is carrying CV around, do you fall into any of these 3 categories?

If you dont, it is nothing wrong. My only question is: are you well aware of your other options?

You are 38, never worked in a formal company and you wake up one day and carry CV. Are you aware of your options? Have you thought very well through those options and chosen the very best for you.

Listen, you can lie to the whole world, but never lie to self. Sit quietly in your room and explore your options very well. Stop going around telling everyone that your elder brother has refused to get you a job, when you know you are 39, with no skill, no prior job, no experience. Your brother is not a miracle-maker. Life has its rules.

Oya, sit down now and start thinking and re-aligning your life. Do you need to learn a skill? Do you prefer to offer yourself to intern for free? Do you want to take up an odd job? Do you want to become a monk and serve God without worrying about earning?

Make your choice truly and work out your plans. Decisions are best taken with proper information, so, now you know better.
Guess what -there are so many opportunities available for you, you can explore them and make magic out of your life.

I hope this helps someone out there.

However, like any vehicle, the LR4 has its share of common problems and standout years. In this comprehensive guide, we'll delve into the issues to watch out for and the best years to consider when buying a Land Rover LR4.

Understanding Common Problems

Before making a purchase, it's crucial to familiarize yourself with the common issues that LR4 owners often encounter. These problems can vary from year to year but may include:

Electrical System Malfunctions: Some LR4 models have been plagued by electrical system failures, leading to issues with various components such as lights, sensors, and entertainment systems.
Engine Troubles: Engine failures or performance issues have been reported in certain LR4 vehicles. These can range from minor annoyances to more serious mechanical issues requiring extensive repairs.

Transmission Problems: Transmission troubles, including rough shifting or complete failure, have been noted in some LR4 models. These issues can be costly to repair and may affect the vehicle's drivability.

Suspension and Steering Failures: Owners have reported problems with the LR4's suspension and steering systems, including leaks, squeaks, and premature wear. These issues can impact ride quality and safety.

Best Years to Buy Land Rover LR4

While the Land Rover LR4 has faced its share of challenges, there are also standout years known for their reliability and performance. If you're considering purchasing an LR4, here are some of the best years to keep in mind:

2011 Land Rover LR4: The 2011 LR4 is praised for its refined design and improved reliability compared to earlier models. It offers a good balance of features and performance, making it a popular choice among buyers.

2012 Land Rover LR4: Similar to the 2011 model, the 2012 LR4 continues to impress with its robust construction and capable off-road capabilities. It's a solid option for those seeking a dependable luxury SUV.

2013 Land Rover LR4: The 2013 LR4 receives high marks for its updated technology and enhanced driving dynamics. It remains a top contender in its class, offering a comfortable ride both on and off the road.

2014 Land Rover LR4: With its refined interior and improved fuel efficiency, the 2014 LR4 is a standout choice for buyers seeking a well-rounded luxury SUV. It boasts strong performance and a host of advanced features.

The Worst Year to Buy Land Rover LR4

In the world of automotive enthusiasts, discussions about the Land Rover LR4 often touch upon its rugged elegance, luxurious interior, and impressive off-road capabilities. However, amidst the praise, there lies a cautionary tale – the worst year for the Land Rover LR4.

The Troubled Year 2015: Among the various model years of the Land Rover LR4, 2015 stands out as a year fraught with challenges and disappointments for both owners and enthusiasts alike. What went wrong, you might ask? Let's delve into the reasons why 2015 is regarded as the LR4's nadir.

Recall Woes: One of the primary reasons behind the tarnished reputation of the 2015 Land Rover LR4 lies in its numerous recalls. These recalls encompassed a wide array of critical components, ranging from the fuel system to the electrical system and even the wheels.

Fuel System Issues: Among the recalls that plagued the 2015 LR4, issues with the fuel system were particularly concerning. Owners reported various problems, including leaks and fuel pump failures, which not only posed safety hazards but also led to costly repairs and potential engine damage.

Electrical System Failures: Another Achilles' heel of the 2015 LR4 was its electrical system, which exhibited a propensity for malfunctions and failures. From glitchy infotainment screens to malfunctioning sensors and intermittent electrical shorts, these issues contributed to a frustrating ownership experience for many LR4 owners.
Wheel Woes: In addition to the fuel and electrical system woes, 2015 LR4 owners also faced challenges with their wheels. Reports of cracked or warped wheels were not uncommon, leading to concerns about safety and the overall integrity of the vehicle's drivetrain.

The Verdict: A Year to Avoid: Considering the litany of recalls and the myriad of problems reported by owners, it's clear that 2015 was a year to avoid for prospective Land Rover LR4 buyers. While the LR4 may have redeeming qualities in other model years, the 2015 iteration serves as a cautionary tale about the perils of purchasing a vehicle during its troubled production cycle.

Conclusion

The Land Rover LR4 is a capable and stylish SUV that appeals to a wide range of drivers. However, like any vehicle, it's essential to be aware of common problems and choose the best model year for your needs.

By understanding the issues to watch out for and selecting a reliable year, you can enjoy years of driving enjoyment with your Land Rover LR4. Whether you're navigating city streets or tackling rugged terrain, the LR4 is sure to impress with its blend of luxury and performance.
