same thing for usdchf, I really just wanna buy that guy. but I have to wait for what tomorrows candles says. if I buy I will be among the early buyers if the trade goes up It not about buying or selling, it about how long the buy or sell will last. Some people would come here and give a buy signal, not knowing they are only aiming 5 pips. |

MetroLane: Let me use layman's terms for you.
I bought a pen at #20, the price of pen increase to #70, I move my stop loss to #50, i.e if the price of pen reduces from #70 to #50, then I want to get out of my buy position and sell the pen at that price.
Considering the fact I bought the pen at #20 and it increases to #70, but the price came down, so I had to sell it at #50.... am I making loss or profit..
No offense, but if you can't understand it this way, even baby pips can't help you. Dathypebruv: What Donsheddy did/used was a trailing stoploss or modified stoploss which is used to secure a trade already in profits
it is quite different from the traditional stoploss
you cant be right and everyone else wrong
Cc.
@Humbletrader Please, let's not be lazy traders, I repeat. - Open a demo account - Enter a buy trade - When in profit, put a stop loss directly under the current position of the market. - When the market reverse and hit your stop loss, come and show us the profit you made. Argument with prove. |

BE CAREFUL WHO YOU LISTEN TO
Some time ago I told someone about how I have figured out a way to be profitable in forex, but it requires large capital, the person got angry saying trading is scam, I had to explain that the aim of trading is to make more profit than loss, this person insist that nobody is profitable, anytime I tried to say something, the person will counter with insults and claim they know everything.
So I ask this person, what was your trading technique, lot size, basic trading questions, this person said those things don't matter, that they gave a professional with good trading history over half a million naira and they blew the account, while the person kept ranting I said to myself, so you've never traded in your life yet you go about saying forex trade is a scam.
We need to be careful who we listen to. |

EASYLIFE4US: My fellow trader, what he did with the stop loss is what is called,"break even". One can break even with just enough pips to cover commission and swaps if he hold the trade beyond at least a day. Please google the term, "break even" and you'll get better explanation than what I've given here my dear friend, shalom. You're willing to lose 50 % of your profit for a break even, just like that. This is not hard, before any body else mention me again pertaining this discussion on position of stop loss, you must first. - Open a demo account - Enter a buy trade - When in profit, put a stop loss directly under the current position of the market. - When the market reverse and hit your stop loss, come and show us the profit you made. Argument with prove. |

EASYLIFE4US: As traders we're expected to be above all forms of pettiness, trading fx alone is monumental stress and adding more to that is extremely dangerous to a trader's mental health and capacity to remain focused and agile. I have made up my mind, if I see a trader making mistake, I notify the trader and move on, if the trader like, the trader takes it, or start fighting me, but only one of these options will make the trader profitable. |

TradingGod: if the new SL is at 50% that means the profit will be 50% because the initial entry was at 0% You can't take profit and stop loss at the same time, that's what I was trying to tell him, if that stop loss was hit, the entire 50% will be lost. The best way to end trade like this is to manually take profit, which was what he eventually did. |
Business › Re: Forex Trade Alerts: Season 23 by HumbleTrader: 10:59am On Apr 04, 2023 |
Donsheddy: Its simple stuff...
My aim was 105 pips.. My initial s. L before the trade was 23 pips s. L below my entry......
Now market move 70 pips above entry...
While re Analysing at lower tf i noticed some funny market movement and levels formed....
I moved my stop loss to 50 pips above my entry and 20 pips below market price...
Which means if market drops down 20 pips my trades will close with 50 pips profit......
That's what we call trailing stop loss boss ....
Its not a must that s.l will be placed below entry.....
You gerrit?? Donsheddy: The fact that you're too proud to learn is just wonderful nobody is pushing me... The fact that you talked back to boss infofirst shows that you're a new member... Trade as you see fit. |

infofirst: Your explanation are valid. I hope you will understand this and you can do some simple search to learn about it. What the guy did is correct. He simply protected his profit. That is why he moved his SL above his entry price. You can read more on protecting gains and trailing profit. Bla bla.
Be that humble trader you wish to be. God bless you He's not protecting anything, stop loss is not thesame things as stop loss and take profit. - A trader is aim at 100 percent - Trade gets to 60 percent - Trader than puts stop loss at 50 percent, which means if market drops from 60 to 50, all profit made from 0 to 50 will be lost. |

Donsheddy: Is that what they thought you....
As you can see stop loss can be placed above entry price.... If you want to secure some percentage of the profit while the trade is still running That not how it works, if your stop loss is hit as it is, all profit will be lost. |
Business › Re: Forex Trade Alerts: Season 23 by HumbleTrader: 10:08am On Apr 04, 2023 |
Donsheddy: Not too comfortable with the m30 close market might drop a bit before upward move.....
Stop loss moved to 1.24590
R. R 1:2 secured... That's not how a stop loss is set. Stop loss should be below point of entry for a buy, and above point of entry for a sell.

meshpips: The Broker in my signature allows $1 (yes! one dollar) withdrawal.
Their spreads are by far the best in this industry for Brokers with a representative office in Nigeria.
If you taste of their excellent service, you will never go anywhere else.
I have been using them for about 15 years now.
They were the first to simplify this deposit process by allowing us deposit in Naira and then reflecting the USD equivalent in out trading account.
We used to wait for 2 days for our bank wires to clear back in those days. What's their minimum deposit. |

Petah: Good evening, I wan know more about this cent account if I wan to convert 50 dollars to cent account. How does the pip loss and profit works on a 0.01 lot size?? I am beginner - You open a cent account with your Preferred broker. - The market is thesame, the lot size is thesame, the only difference is withdrawal, the cent will be converted to dollar or naira, depending on your withdrawal method. - Every 100 cent is 1 dollar, and every 1000 cent is 10 dollar, in my case I deposited exactly 7,500 naira which was converted to 1000 cent. If it was a dollar account, it would have been 10 dollar |
