From 1971 after the civil war Igbos were treated like a rag as a result of the outcome of the war.The military regime of general Gowon and subsequent military regime continued to show and treat igbos as a defeated member section of the country. With the military in power, you dear not challenge the decision of the military no matter how bad their policy was.And the media was in their control with the western media dishing out information which is still at the detriment of Igbos.

The law of life is that you can not keep somebody down for ever . Now we are in the democratic sitting, it takes lobbying to bring people to do ones bidding though our government still have some military approach to issues but even at that there are other check and balances to it.
The present government may have shown the act of nepotism or tribal bigotry against igbos . Now Igbos have channels through which they can express their opinion and complaint .Thanks to whoever that invented the internet. Before now igbos were like a child beaten for no wrong doing and asked not to cry.


Igbos self consciousness have risen among the Igbos of se, ss and nc inspite the present situation of the igbos which is like the candle in the wind.

With the democracy and availability of the internet, it may not be an Igbo person but one who believes in meritocracy, fairness and level playing ground that produces heathy competition will be elected as president.That will be the end of the Nigerian problem general and igbos in particular.
