The council elections was just a straight shootout between the supporters of the candidates, reason why a whole decimated PDP got Gwagwalada when incumbent APC is supposed to clear everything out, still the election was never about the common man, I mean, who would want to involve themselves in an election that won't change a jot in our socioeconomic aspect except if you are a rabid supporter of the party and the candidates involved? Most would rather keep their feet and voters card in cotton wool and wait for the mother of all elections which will involve those like Obi and Atiku that can change our lives for the better, hence the low voter turnout....It's no wonder the incumbents are skittish and gaslighting us about ADC being third,PDP second and shyte..The APC and their goons are scared, they are very very scared. |

I think egbetokun era was a very Chilled era, infact so laid back was egbetokun that I believe Tinubu wasn't too sure he would stomach much when it comes to 2027 presidential elections, so what's better to fashion a scape goat, then hang the dog with a bad name before replacement with a much loyal and younger man with very much to prove as ACTING police chief to deliver 2027 elections for Tinubu.....If all goes well election wise, Tunji Disu might as well lock down that IGP post till 2031. 6 Likes |

The prevailing economic realities on ground is good campaign optics for the ADC, it will only be bad for them if these conditions change for the better in the next one year which is quite the impossible. Now if (just making an hypothesis here)as an incumbent,I cannot change the impossible then it's best I try to eliminate and cut off the snake heads of opposition as per my main rivals like El rufai, Atiku and Obi. |

Inflation is still in the high side, the populace have become poorer... Then you have the trend of politicians exchanging their cumulative dollar loot of the past 4 years into naira to run their campaigns. And as more politicians do so, as more folks and speculators get poorer thus reducing the drive to buy dollars as an inflationary hedge. This means Fewer Naira will chase the Dollar,until election is over, the looting begins and there's a mad dash to exchange such loot to dollars to preserve the loot's value ...We are talking about trillions of NAIRA.
