Localemperor:I understand your point but giving First class to Dick and Harry is unheard of. The way the grade was written raised suspicion that the result was doctored. |
Good Evening NL's. Pls I need your input regarding this matter. Is it possible for a graduate with a very good result to want to settle for less if truly nothing is wrong somewhere? Here is the story, Nearly a week ago, a guy came to a business centre where I work to draft his CV and print some of his credentials, his First Degree Certificate and SSCE result precisely. Immediately, I began to draft the CV, asked some things about him that's needed to be on the CV. We then got to the Education section, asked him the name of the Institution attended, Course of study, and his Grade stylishly because his response to the most of the things asked lacks intelligibility and he did. To my utmost surprise he finished with a first class from one of State owned varsities in the south west. Alot of questions raced through my mind Did he buy this result? Is First class that easy in State owned varsities? ... During the CV drafting, He told me to just help him draft anyhow that a page is okay, that if not for his wife pestering him to look for a job he won't be stressing himself. This person only targets schools and tutorials knowing fully well how most private schools pay ridiculously low salaries to their staffs. I was so vexed one particular day, when he narrated his ordeal at one Tutorial centre, how he was offered 300NGN per hour to teach. I blamed him for going to such place with his result. Today, was going through my gallery, then I saw some of the credentials he sent to me on WhatsApp, looked at the credentials for some minutes especially the First degree, I have compassion on him because of his excellent academic performance. But one thing caught my attention, the grade written on the certificate was FIRST CLASS (UPPER DIVISION) instead of FIRST CLASS HONOURS. Less I forget, He has no NYSC Discharge Certificate and he did full time programme and also finished schooling before 30. Pls graduate in the house, is the result genuine? or the mistake is from the school or Do any First class graduate in the house has his/her grade written like this (FIRST CLASS UPPER DIVISION) on his/her Certificate? |

Good afternoon Nairalanders. Please I need your input on the predicament I found myself in. Roughly 3 months ago, I discovered something like a lump in my breast the left side precisely but it wasn't painful if not pressed. Initially, I didn't see it as something serious until clear fluid began to show on the nipple when pressed and the size of the lump seems reduced when water is being squeezed out. 3weeks after the discovery, I went to see a Medical Doctor in a Federal University Health Centre where I'm schooling. I narrated my ordeal to her and asked me to pull off my T-shirt for her to see the lump in the breast which I did. She did visual check only. No examination or anything. she said it nothing to worry about that it normal. She then asked of my age? Told her I'm in my mid-twenties (was specific when telling her tho). Her response was that it normal. Then I told her about some researches I made on the internet, that I think it should be normal if am still in my teens prolly because of puberty. Her response was still the same couldn't believe my ears. Later told her about the nipple discharge (clear liquid) coming out when pressed. She laughed it off and said maybe it breast milk. I was very vexed and told her what's that suppose to mean, saw the vexed look on my face she then apologized that she didn't mean that way that's normal. She asked if it painful? I said no if not pressed and she gave the same response as usual. It has been over 2months now I met the Medic but can't get it off my mind. The thought of the lump being cancerous that it'll better if the lump is examined on time has been on my mind ever since then. Please Medics/Health Practitioners come to my aid, is the Medical Doctor right about lump not being cancerous? Pls pardon my grammatical errors. |
Popular Nigerian Journalist, Dr. (Mrs) Kemi Olunloyo took to her Twitter page to warn Lagos girls to desist from the act of inserting maggi/knor cubes into their Anus for butt enlargement. She reiterated that it gives a big butt but it introduces about 2500kg of sodium (salt) into the bloodstream then the heart electrolyte messes up and boom CARDIAC ARREST. She says another chic died yesterday because of this menace. Daughters of Eve never cease to amaze us ![]()

Popular singer, Bella Shmurda, experience the unexpected during a live performance after tossing his singlet to the crowd. The singer who came into the limelight following association with the top three Afrobeat singers in Nigeria pulled a stunt that failed him during a show in Obafemi Awolowo Univeristy, Ile-Ife, Osun state. During the heat of a show, Bella Shmurda spun his sweaty single in the air multiple times before tossing it at his fans. Unfortunately, the underwear was rejected and tossed back at the singer. “Even if nah Davido singlet I go throw am back !!!!!!!! [quote author=jerricho post=105724413]Apart from the cracks, there's absolutely nothing wrong with this phone. Anyone that knows about the Samsung Galaxy S8 knows it's a really dope device. Of course you have the right to take your sweet time and test it out before any payment is made, but be rest assured that the phone is working well. To put it in plain pidgin: Nothing do the phone. RAM is 4GB. Internal storage is 64GB. There's also provision for a memory card. Back camera is 12MP. Front camera is 8MP. There's also a 2MP camera beside the selfie camera that serves as a dedicated iris scanner. Fingerprint is rear-mounted. Battery is 3000 mAh and non-removable. Should interest you to know that this midnight black beauty's both dust and water resistant for 30 minutes. OS came with Android 7.0 (Nougat), but I've upgraded it to Android 9.0 (Pie). sageb:One thing u fail to know is that u can’t study the science of food without studying the engineering aspect of it. As a food scientist u take science and engineering principles and apply them to the storage, processing, and distribution of food materials and other bio-products. From the look of things I doubt it if u guys offered any engineering course during ur undergraduate days. To get a degree in Food Science and Technology at OAU (the first institution to start the course in the whole of Nigeria) u will offer most of the engineering courses (Elect, Mech, Chemical, Agric Engineering ... etc). |
sageb:Hmmm. FST is a core agriculture discipline Op can u define FST? The Institute of Food Technologists defines food science as "the discipline in which the engineering, biological, and physical sciences are used to study the nature of foods, the causes of deterioration, the principles underlying food processing, and the improvement of foods for the consuming public". Food Science is also multi-disciplinary field involving chemistry, biochemistry, nutrition, microbiology and engineering to give one the scientific knowledge to solve real problems associated with the many facets of the food system. So what’s the course doing in the faculty of agriculture. |
BarristerAlarig:FST in most of the first generation universities is in the faculty of engineering especially OAU and UI. OAU was the first institution to start the course in Nigeria 50years ago and was established under the Faculty of Engineering. Don’t know why is under the Faculty of Agriculture in some schools knowing fully well that FST can’t be studied without studying the engineering aspect of it. |
Hintona:Hi. Can we get to know each other. |
