No civilian or politician can give an order to a Policeman or Military officer except their superiors and the Comander in Chief of the Armed forces (President).
You right to give an instruction to the Policemen assigned to you for your protection is even limited.
ĪWike should have used his political power to call his superior to give him an order to give way instead of him acting arrogantly.
He made it clear to Wike he was there based on an order. What is there for Wike to understand.
Weather order is legal or illegal his superior will answer for that.
The officer respected him and acted professionally |
Politics › Re: It's an honour to serve in the Military, respect the Uniform - Defence HQs by infofta(m): 9:09am On Nov 12, 2025 |
ALTERNATEID: Sorry but we are no longer under a military dictatorship. In a democracy, the military is subjected to civilian control.
Nobody has the power to deploy soldiers for an internal operation without the approval of Mr. President. So, it is illegal to deploy soldiers to go and be protecting a private land of a retired soldier.
Again, it is illegal for anybody to obstruct FCT officials from carrying out their legitimate duties. If we allow just anybody to use access to military boys to stop government officials from doing their jobs, then we are creating a banana republic.
Finally, all lands in the FCT are vested in the Minister of the FCT. He has the power to allocate and cancel the allocation. If the former CNS is dissatisfied with the decision of the FCT minister, he should approach the court and not resort to self help. Obstructing FCT officials including preventing the minister from accessing the land in such a rude and unprofessional manner is unacceptable. Those soldiers should be made to face disciplinary action immediately. Do you know the meaning of abuse of power for corruption purposes. That's what is happening in FCT. If I'm that position I will use my powers to protect what is mine. Sometimes you cure madness with madness |

delpee: Sometimes, I wonder if Northerners actually want to see anyone end to banditry. I prefer that we deal with the situation by ourselves to avoid the Libyan or Afghanistan effect. Still, if we're helpless and have some genuine help, why must we prefer to surrender to terror? These Terrorists have their footprints in the government, in the Military, in the Communities. They have sponsors and sympathizers that's why they cannot be eradicated. THIS A CANCER THAT WILL SPREAD TO THE SOUTH EVENTUALLY. It's just a matter of time. |

Quest7777: Truth is that Tinubu lacks the will to fight Boko Haram and the insecurity.
Majority of Northerners are apólógists of Bóko Haram. Reason why, Buhari declared that "an Attack on Boko Haram is an Attack on the North". So any genuine fight against BH will amount to stepping on the toes of Northerners, which Tinubu lacks the will to do. There are many radical groups on the North who are Muslims and they are opposed to Christians in their Communities. These groups move freely in groups in broad daylight. |

mascot87: Let me tell you what you people don't know. In as much as I want all the Islamic terrorists and Fulani terrorists wiped out including there sponsors by the United State in the North, there would be a big humanitarian crisis in the South too and that's the fact. There is no law stopping the movement of people from the North to the South in Nigeria including the disguised terrorists. They will move down south to find shelter. We are talking about 250 million Nigerians here. Is the South ready for this infiltration and the consequences it will bring? Is the South ready to take care of the Northern immigrants because you cannot stop them from free movement.
***Most comments under my post are based on sentiments and emotions and not solid ground on fact. What you people don't understand is that the northerners may see the invasion as been triggered by the south (most especially the SE) to fight the North and may instruct there people to move down south in millions for shelter. In doing so, we may have more crisis that we may not be able to handle. Is the South ready for this? Such invasion goes beyond just going after the terrorists that have already been infiltrated into the society. It's not that easy as you people think. Once it starts, no one could ascertain its end. *It could be sabotaged from within and US wouldn't be able to help. You forget what is going on in the North now is a cancer that will eventually spread to the South. It's just a matter of time. If nothing is done now mark this post for future reference. |
