potmeetskettle: Hey, I want to make this known to everyone of you. The available spaces you all have been mentioning so far doesn't say the vacancies in each department rather it is the UME space, which are the spaces taken by the UME for some candidates in that particular department.
e.g. When in a department, 15 out of 40 candidates were shortlisted for provisional admission and the maximum required students in the department was 50. In the department, those with Awaiting Results that reached the cut-off but weren't shotlisted and those also that left out some few points to their departments cut-off mark are those in the UME SPACE.
So when the UME SPACE is 7 and the shortlisted is 15, with the total of 40 candidates. UME SPACE 7 + 15 Shortlisted= 22. The total candidates 40 - 22= 18. Then 18 should be the vacance space for the supplemantries.
NB. UI does not consider any score below 40. 40 to 49 are under the liabilities of receiving any quota.

Then in the department. The first batch consists of those that reached the cut-off mark (MERITS). While the second batch is of those that didn't submit their O'levels for fully verifications. (AWAITING RESULTS) but got to the cuts-off mark, those that left off some few points to their departments cuts-off mark and the supplementaries.
