Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has joined the fight against the coronavirus outbreak.

The Barcelona captain has made a donation of €1m to assist in the ongoing battle against the threatening health crisis. The fund is meant to sponsor the purchases of sanitary material.

The money, meanwhile, won't be limited to the Hospital Clinic in Barcelona. Some parts of it will be split between hospitals in his native Argentina.

Messi is currently out of action after the health crisis forced football to be suspended at the elite level in Europe.

The playmaker has bagged 24 goals and 16 assists for Barca across all competitions this season.

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the reduction of the pump price of petrol to N125 per litre.


Buhari was said to have approved the price reduction after the Minister of State, Petroleum Resources, Mr Timipre Sylva, briefed him on the the current crash in the global price of crude oil.

Confirming the development, Special Assistant to the President on New Media , Tolu Ogunlesi on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, said the price reduction takes effect immediately.

He said, “PMB has graciously approved that pump price of petrol should drop. Will be N125 per liter henceforth, at this time. NEW Price modulation mechanism will allow petrol price to drop or rise in line with the changes in crude oil prices. Effective immediately”.

According to the ministry, the new patient is a Nigerian woman, who recently returned from the United Kingdom.


The Lagos State Ministry of Health has confirmed the third case of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

Popular Nigerian Socialite, Ismaila Mustapha popularly known as Mompha featured in a skit by popular comedian, Broda Shaggi.

The Dubai based big boy, received heavy backlash from Internet user over the comedy skit.

In the skit, Mompha had played the role of a wealthy individual that was being accosted by officials of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF).

Reacting to criticisms, Mompha stated that he does not understand why people were getting triggered over his feature.

He said that the people talking against the skit were nowhere to be found when he was going through a bad time, yet, the same set of people frown against his decision to support Broda Shaggi.

Mompha went on to share a skit that featured former president Olusegun Obasanjo. He stated that if the revered leader can be featured in a comedy skit, then he should be able to do the same.
