....but the mistake you're making is you think Pep would stress himself to instill pattern as if he's coaching a club side. I beg to differ cos most national coaches don't instill pattern. All they just need is for a country to have good players who can easily assimilate tactics (due to no time), then set the template and you're good to go. That's why most countries that have golden generation (especially if the set is concentrated on a particular country) will go far even with average coach. Eg Germany golden generation (with Bayern and Dortmund), Spain golden generation (with Barca and Madrid) and presently England Golden generation (reaching finals even with scrap Southgate).

The way MLS and Saudi is to Europe players is the way NT job is to coaches. Most average coaches (or past their prime coach) are the ones that will acknowledge NT jobs. Nothing special there to be honest
