The 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, #VGMA, nearly turned bloody in the early hours of Sunday, May 19, 2019, as fans of dancehall artiste Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale clashed after the former was announced as the Reggae Dancehall Artiste of the Year. . . An unhappy Shatta Wale and his fans had got off their seats and made their way to the podium, but were stopped by stonebwoy and his fans and that led to a brawl. . . At some point, Stonebwoy pulled out a gun on stage while the security operatives intervened by spraying pepper in the auditorium in an attempt to prevent a full-blown fight. A foreigner identified as George #Suarez, has been arrested, arraigned and remanded in prison for mobilizing soldiers to beat his neighbor, Diva, like an uneatable snake in Lagos. . . It was gathered that Diva’s only offense was having a misunderstanding with Suarez’s wife at their No 5, Falilat shomade street, #Lekki home, on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. . . The man was said to have brought in four soldiers and ordered them to flog the victim. She was later whisked away and warned against reporting the incident if she doesn’t want to the shot. . . However, the neighbors that witnessed the inhumane treatment rushed Diva to the hospital and got the police involved.
