Ukraine launched a devastating attack overnight on the army headquarters of Russia's 8th Combined Arms Army. The military HQ was located in the central department store in Donetsk, according to local reports.

The lethal strike was carried out using Storm Shadow missiles and is reported to have killed "dozens" of Russian officers. However, so far there has been no official confirmation of casualties by either Ukraine or Russia.

A building is engulfed by a raging inferno, as firefighters desperately try to douse the flames.

Damage to nearby buildings and cars can also be seen in the dramatic images that have been widely shared.

Kyiv's army launched a series of ferocious drone and missile strikes at targets across both Russia and the occupied-parts of Ukraine in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Nine Ukrainian fighter jets were reported to have attacked targets in Crimea, including the port city of Sevastopol.

Both the Rostov and Astrakhan region also came under aerial bombardment, as Kyiv intensifies its campaigns to disrupt Putin's war machine.

The military missile base in Akhtubinsk, Astrakhan - known as Kapustin Yar - was believed to be the target of one of the attacks.

Russia's army has used the base in the past to launch medium-range ballistic missiles known as "Oreshnik.

Meanwhile, the city of Izhevsk in the Udmurtia region of Russia came under drone attack on Tuesday morning.

At least two UAVs attacked the Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant Kupol within five minutes of each other, eyewitnesses reported.
