If you ever go to court, and court sets you free, but government asks the same court to suspend their decision, keep you jail for months or years while they appeal at the Supreme court, you will understand where Kanu is coming from

If Kanu is convicted today in court and sent to jail, will Kanu be able to ask court to suspend that decision while he appeals to the Supreme court? Or will he begin his sentence and appeal from jail? The judgement of the court will stand while Kanu appeals from jail

But if Kanu wins in court, he will still sit in jail as the authorities appeal at a higher court
