1 Samuel 17:45 Then David said to the Philistine, “…I come to you in the name of theLord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. Ever wonder why two people can hear the same thing and yet have very different responses? For one, what is said makes him afraid and discouraged. For the other, his heart is so filled with faith that he dares to come against the devil and what he is doing. In the Valley of Elah, Goliath the Philistine giant taunted the armies of Israel for 40 days. When David came on the scene, he heard the same mockings of Goliath that the rest of the Israelites heard. But somehow, those same words which caused fear in the soldiers angered David. What did David know or see that the others failed to see? David knew that he had a covenant with God. Now, King Saul and all the soldiers with him that day also had the same covenant with God, but only David believed the covenant. And he acted on his belief. So God caused his giant to come tumbling down. If David had such a great victory even though he was under the old covenant, how much more you and I who are under the new covenant! Today, God is asking, “Where are my Davids who will believe the new covenant?” What is the new covenant? It is the covenant of grace. And grace means unmerited, undeserved, unearned favor. God wants us to know that He has cut this covenant with us through Christ our representative. And according to the covenant, we have His undeserved favor. We are blessed because Jesus took our beating. Because of what Jesus has done on the cross, we have victory over every giant. Isn’t that good news? Today, God wants you to stand before your “giant” and declare that in spite of what you are going through, in spite of what is happening, you believe that God is for you because of what Jesus has done for you. And then, before your very eyes, you will see the giants of accusation, intimidation, condemnation, disease and debt fall flat before you! https://www.josephprince.org/blog/daily-grace-inspirations/believe-and-act-on-the-new-covenant |

Isaiah 54:14 In righteousness you shall be established; you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near you. Have you ever asked yourself why some Christians are constantly beset with overwhelming challenges, sicknesses and defeat if God’s promise, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper” (Isaiah 54:17), is true? Well, this promise comes with a condition—“In righteousness you shall be established”. When you are established in righteousness, you will be far from oppression and terror, and not a single weapon formed against you will prosper! This condition is not hard to meet. For a start, you already have righteousness! When you received Jesus as your Savior, you received the gift of righteousness which enables you to reign in life. (Romans 5:17) This righteousness does not come from you but the Lord. (Isaiah 54:17) And when you are established in His righteousness, no weapon formed against you will prosper. But what does being established in righteousness mean? To be established in something is to have that something as your very foundation for security. So God wants you to know, be sure of and grow in the revelation that you are righteous by the blood of Jesus, by His perfect sacrifice at the cross. When you feel as if you are in a storm, tossed here and there, and you begin to experience worry and fear, remind yourself of who you are in Christ. You are the righteousness of God in Christ and you have His righteousness! As you do this, you will begin to notice the worry and fear slide off you, for when you are established in righteousness, “you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near you”! That is why God wants you to be established in righteousness. He wants you to be free from fear, and far from oppression and terror. So when the pressure is on, hold fast to the belief that you are the righteousness of God in Christ. That is where no weapon formed against you can prosper. As you keep believing and confessing your righteousness in Christ, revelation will break forth and you will experience the release of God’s miraculous provision, divine protection and blessings into your life! https://www.josephprince.org/blog/daily-grace-inspirations/be-established-in-gods-righteousness |
Matinoh: No wahala my broda, i understand you. No, ability to feel remorseful is not what separates us from unbelievers. It's our new nature that separates us. The ability to ask for forgiveness is not what makes us to go to heaven, it's because of Christ's Finished Work on the Cross where he forgave our Past, Present and Future sins. Yes, what you have to do to make heaven is to believe ( John 3:16 ). It's only God that knows our hearts, so i can't say this person is born again and this one is not lol. Anyone that believes that Christ Jesus is the Son of God and believes He died, was buried and resurrected on the 3rd day for his Justification is saved and will make heaven on the last day. My bro i don't condemn people oo cos am not God, i don't know their relationship with God. |
Earthrealmlord:you welcome |
Matinoh:Sorry you misunderstood me. Yes, believers do sin. But from your write up, its like your friend has made his own a practice and even backing it up with the quote u wrote up there. Believers sin but they don't stay there. Because they have the Holy spirit in them, they always feel bad about it and want to stop. But with human effort they can't, its only Christ that set them free. Like some cases of sexual sins, some believers do fall into that cycle but most always feel bad after doing it and always call on God to forgive them. But it's only Christ that always break that cycle in their lives. |
