The Senator representing Bayelsa East in the National Assembly, Ben Murray-Bruce has reacted to Wizkid’s big win at the 2017 MOBO Awards last night.

The former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has won President Muhammadu Buhari and the ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan in an online poll conducted on Twitter.
In an online poll conducted by a platform on micro-blogging site, Twitter, 2019 presidential hopeful, Atiku Abubakar floored President Muhammadu Buhari and the ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan, as well as Rabiu Kwankwaso.
The poll conducted by Onward Nigeria (@OnwardNG), shows the ex-Vice President, who recently dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC), party on an expressly crushing win over both the current president and the immediate past president.
While Atiku polled 54 percent, Jonathan polled 24 per cent, while Buhari polled 21 per cent. The poll also showed Kwankwaso polling just one per cent.

Nigeria’s president, Mr Muhammadu Buhari has hinted at seeking re-election in the forthcoming 2019 presidential election.

Mr Muhammadu Buhari, the president of Nigeria, has given the clearest hint so far that he will seek re election in 2019.

According to Premium Times, the man gave the hint in far away Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire where he is attending the 5th European Union-African Union (EU-AU) Summit.

He was accompanied on the trip by a leader of the governing APC, Bola Tinubu, and governors Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom and Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi states among others.

The president arrived late to an interactive session with the Nigerian community in Cote d’Ivoire Tuesday night and said he had to wait for the two governors to accompany him to the meeting because of their electoral value.

“First I want to apologise for keeping you for too long sitting, this is because I insisted on the governors attending this meeting.

“This is why I came along with them so that when we are going to meet you, when you are going to meet the rest of Nigerians, if you tell them that their governors were in the company of the president, I think that will be another vote for me in the future. I’m very pleased that they were able to turn up,” Mr. Buhari said to thunderous laughter and clapping by the audience.

Mr. Buhari had during his inauguration on May 29, 2015 stated that he will be for everybody as well as for nobody.

He reiterated that position on Tuesday, saying that was responsible for his support of Akinwumi Adesina to emerge as the President of African Development Bank, AfDB, despite serving as a minister in a PDP-led administration.

Mr. Buhari was reacting to Mr. Adesina’s remark earlier expressing gratitude for the support he received in his bid to emerge as the AfDB president.

Some militants and vandals have reportedly surrendered their arms in an Ondo State community after embracing government’s amnesty program.

According to a report by The Nation, some militants terrorising parts of Lagos, Ogun and Ondo states submitted their arms on Monday evening to embrace Federal Government’s Amnesty programme.
The militants were said to be behind the abduction of six Senior Secondary School (SSS)m pupils of Lagos Model College at Igbonla, near Epe in Lagos State; Arepo pipeline vandalisation and several attacks in the riverine areas of Ondo State.

The militants were led by Ogailo Iborry Young (aka O.C) to the Collection and Documentation of Arms Centre in Ajapa community in Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
They willingly dropped their arms and other weapons.
The event, witnessed by Deputy Governor and Chairman of Ondo State Amnesty Committee, Agboola Ajayi, representatives of Delta State government, the Commanding Officer of the Nigerian Navy Forward Operation Base at Igbokoda, Navy Captain Usman Yahaya, among others, was seen as the solution to restoring peace in the riverine area.
Some of the surrendered arms include Browning wz machine gun, Daewoo K3, Colt automatic rifles, general purpose machine gun, Breda 30, Fiat Revelli modelling, AK-47 rifles, rocket launcher, CETME Ameli, Heckler & Koch MG4, pump action and some automatic cartridges.

The corpse of a law student of the University of Uyo who was shot dead during NANS election has been recovered.
The body of late Comrade Elvis Magam, a student of the University of Uyo who was killed during elections for coordinators of the National Union of Nigerian Students (NANS) has been recovered and is set to be sent home in Ogoja local government area in Cross River state ahead of his funeral.

Magam was shot dead during the NANS election held at the Federal University Otuoke, Bayelsa state over the weekend.

Three persons alleged to be involved in the murder of Magam Elvis of the faculty of Law, UNIUYO have been arrested by the police in Bayelsa state. The police also confirmed that they have in their custody eight students including Bayelsa NANS President, Perewari Benjamin arrested for involvement in armed robbery and cultism.
