JOMOTV - Cameroon opposition candidate, Maurice Kamto, has claimed victory in the presidential election, declaring yesterday that ‘we have achieved our goal’. Greeted by screams from his supporters as he made the announcement, Kamto, who leads the Movement for the Rebirth of Cameroon (MRC), called on President Paul Biya to hand over power peacefully.

“I invite the outgoing president to organise a peaceful way to transfer power,” he told a news conference in the capital Yaounde, giving no results to justify his claim. The election was widely expected to extend the rule of Biya, one of Africa’s last multi decade leaders who have held power for 36 years.

“My mission was to take a penalty. I did it and I scored,” Kamto said to chants of “freedom” by jubilant supporters in a courtyard. He offered no evidence to justify his claim to have won. Minister of Territorial Administration Paul Atanga Nji said on Sunday that only the Constitutional Council would be allowed to announce results, and that any form of challenge to the verdict would “not be tolerated”.

President Buhari’s team releases first campaign photo and Nigerians can’t stop talking about it

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has been approved as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2019 election.

This was done at the party’s national convention on Saturday night.

Writing on Twitter after the nomination, Buhari said:

“It is with a deep sense of humility that I accept the nomination of our great party, the All Progressives Congress, to be its candidate and flagbearer in the 2019 Presidential election. I thank you all for your support and guidance, and for staying committed to the Change Agenda.

“Let us all join hands to ensure the continuation of the good work of the APC Government, to 2023 — and beyond! Change has come to stay in Nigeria. Long live APC, long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!”

A nanny, Johnson Becky, has been accused of killing her boss, Yemisi Hassz and carting away valuables at their home in the Asokoro Area of Abuja.

Yemisi’s friend, Ruby Galore, who shared the sad news on IG, had a telephone interview with LIB this evening where she said the unfortunate incident happened on the 23rd of September 2018 at the Asokoro area of Abuja.

While narrating the incident, Ruby said

”My friend is married to an Isrealite and her husband is not always around. She lives in the house with her daughter and the maid, Johnson Becky, as well as the security guards.

On the day of the incident, Becky after attacking her, locked her inside with her daughter, packed some of her valuables and went out of the house in search of a taxi man at about 11pm. No one knows the reason for the attack.

When she returned, she told the security guards that she was traveling to her village and needed to pack her things. The guards stopped her from moving out, insisting that Yemisi did not inform them she was traveling. They tried calling her phones but there was no response.

The Nigeria Police said it has arrested one Idowu Gafar, 29 years at Lugbe for being in possession of fake currencies, and was trying to use same to do point of sale (POS) transfer. Police PRO in Abuja, DSP Anjuguri Manzah, who spoke exclusively to LEADERSHIP, said the suspect was however exposed when the POS operator raised an alarm after she realised that the said currencies were fake. Upon his arrest, 10 pieces of fake one55+ thousand naira notes were recovered from the suspect as exhibits. Manzah further noted that similarly, on September 10, 2018, police operatives acting on tip-off arrested one Abubakar Adamu at Gwarinpa for being in possession of 37 pieces of fake one thousand naira notes.

A live walking and physically okay ELEPHANT was seen today, few minutes ago at a First Bank Nigeria Branch at Seme Boarder – Lagos State, Nigeria at exactly 01:47pm in the bank premises after the the bank received a dispatch of money from the Bank Headquarters.
The ELEPHANT was said to appear just moments immediately the MONEY VAN left the bank premises. The route at which this ELEPHANT came into the bank is yet to be known.

There was fear and in-orderliness in the BANK as security operatives opened fire at the mysterious animal damaging the BANK premises after parting away with some huge amounts of money disclosed by the BANK Manager Mr. Ogunwusi Olaiya to be amounted to the sum of 125Million Naira!.

Not Only did this mysterious Elephant made away with such amounts of money but also destroyed the BANK premises and building beyond measures and also injured one of the staff who tried to stop its actions beyond circumstances.
