First known anti-missile defense system capable of shooting down a hypersonic missile Wow |
Russia’s newest anti-aircraft missile defense system S-500 (Prometheus) has already been put into mass production and promises to become the basis of the Russian aerospace defense system, Yan Novikov, the head of the Russian defense technology company Almaz-Antey, said on Monday. “Currently, mass production of the S-500 system has been launched based on the latest achievements in domestic science and technology. Combat capabilities of the system significantly surpass capabilities of previously created anti-aircraft missile systems and complexes. The S-500 is capable of becoming the basis of the Russian aerospace defense system. The troops will receive it within the time frame set by the state defense order,” Novikov told Russian magazine National Defense. The S-500 Prometheus is a next-generation surface-to-air missile system with a range of 600 kilometers (370 miles). It is a universal high-altitude interception complex with an increased anti-missile defense capability designed for intercepting and destroying intercontinental ballistic missiles, hypersonic cruise missiles and aircraft. Zelensky says up to 3,000 Ukrainian troops dead Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said up to 3,000 Ukrainian soldiers have died and as many as 10,000 have been left injured since the invasion began. He gave the update of between 2,500 and 3,000 deaths in an interview with CNN, in which he also warned about the threat of potential Russian nuclear strike, as we reported earlier. A month ago, Zelensky estimated that around 1,300 Ukrainian troops had died. But on both occasions, he claimed far more Russian soldiers had been killed. The BBC has been unable to independently verify these figures, which do not include civilians. Both sides in the conflict have made frequent claims about the casualties they have inflicted on each other - usually far higher than what their opponent's official count is. Russia's foreign ministry spokeswoman commented on remarks by Brussels’ top diplomat The European Union has devolved to the level of “NATO’s economic relations department,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova claimed on Saturday. Following his visit to Ukraine, the EU’s foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, tweeted: “This war must be won on the battlefield.” Such militant remarks coming from a diplomat prompted a reaction from Moscow. “So much for ‘economic organization.’ This is no longer the European Union. It's just NATO's economic relations department,” Zakharova wrote. Since the launch of the Russian attack on Ukraine on February 24, NATO countries have significantly increased their already hefty supplies of weapons and ammunition to Kiev. However, they have stayed clear of entering direct military confrontation with Russia. Two days ago, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba urged NATO countries to keep providing Kiev with “weapons, weapons, and weapons,” explaining that by fighting Russia, Ukraine is not only defending itself but also bolstering the security of the bloc’s members. https://www.rt.com/russia/553611-eu-nato-economic-department/

Recession shock coming,' major US bank warns Soaring inflation raises the risk of major economic downturn, Bank of America says The macroeconomic picture is deteriorating rapidly and could push the US economy into recession as the Federal Reserve tightens monetary policy to tame surging inflation, Bank of America (BofA) warned on Friday. "Inflation shock worsening, rates shock just beginning, recession shock coming," BofA's chief investment strategist, Michael Hartnett, wrote in a weekly note to clients, seen by Reuters. He added that in this context, cash, volatility, commodities and cryptocurrencies could outperform bonds and stocks. Earlier this week, JPMorgan's chief executive, Jamie Dimon, said in his annual letter to shareholders that the combination of inflation, the conflict in Ukraine and sanctions against Russia may "dramatically increase risks ahead" for the US. He has warned of unpredictable consequences for the nation's economy. On Wednesday, the Federal Reserve laid out its plan to reduce its balance sheet, while also discussing the pace of upcoming interest rate hikes, as it confronts inflation running at a four-decade high. Investors expect the regulator to hike its key interest rate by 50 basis points at its next meeting in early May. https://www.rt.com/business/553524-us-recession-shock-coming/

Russian currency has doubled in value since last month's crash The Russian currency strengthened to just under 72 rubles to the US dollar and to 77 against the euro during trading on the Moscow Exchange on Friday. The ruble has now reached its strongest level versus the dollar since last November and against the euro going back to June 2020. The ruble dropped to historic lows after Moscow launched its military operation in Ukraine in February, after which the EU and US along with allies imposed unprecedented sanctions targeting the country's financial system. On March 7, the Russian currency fell to as low as 150 rubles to the dollar and 164 to the euro. Thanks to a series of steps undertaken by the Russian government, including imposing capital controls and requiring payment for natural gas in the domestic currency, the ruble has since more than doubled in value. The latest package of EU sanctions against Russia introduced on Friday has failed to stop the ruble rally. https://www.rt.com/business/553530-russian-ruble-rises-sanctions/

If strategic deterrence fails, no other defensive plan will work, US Strategic Command has allegedly warned China is on the verge of making a breakthrough in its nuclear arms capabilities that would amount to a major shift in global security balance, Admiral Charles Richard, the head of the US Strategic Command, has written in testimony prepared for a hearing on Capitol Hill, Bloomberg reported on Monday. The official is scheduled to meet the House Defense Appropriations subcommittee at a closed-door hearing on Tuesday. China’s “breathtaking expansion” of its strategic nuclear arsenal means a rapidly escalating risk to Washington, Richard believes. The admiral particularly refers to an intercontinental ballistic missile-launched hypersonic glider test Beijing conducted in July 2021. The operation saw the hypersonic vehicle flying some 40,000 kilometers for more than 100 minutes, according to the testimony. It was “the greatest distance and longest flight time of any land attack weapon system of any nation to date,” he supposedly said This technological advancement on China’s part would mean “serious implications for strategic stability,” Richard warned, adding that US military capabilities and strategies rely on an “assumption that strategic deterrence, and in particular nuclear deterrence, will hold.” “If strategic or nuclear deterrence fails, integrated deterrence and no other plan or capability in the DoD will work as designed,” he added. As a result, the US Strategic Command believes America might have to deal with two potential adversaries possessing vast and modernized nuclear arsenals: China and Russia. Both these nations now have the capability to “unilaterally escalate a conflict to any level of violence, in any domain, worldwide, with any instrument of national power, and at any time,” the admiral has apparently written in his testimony. Richard has been warning about the rapidly changing strategic balance for quite some time now. He already stated, during his visit to Europe in October 2021, that China’s and Russia’s combined nuclear capabilities would send the US into “uncharted waters.” At that time, he also warned that Beijing is now fairly capable of executing “any possible nuclear employment strategy.” American media outlets have been reporting – since at least mid-2021 – that Beijing is allegedly building more than 100 missile silos in a desert in the western part of the country. Now, Richard has spoken of “nuclear missile fields” with some 120 silos each that would provide Beijing with a “robust” capability to reach the continental US. The US admiral also accused Moscow and Beijing of developing “coercive” strategies the US should be ready to “stand up to.” He particularly claimed that Russia could launch a small-scale tactical nuclear strike against a non-nuclear NATO member to make the military bloc stand down in any potential conflict as part of its supposed “escalate to de-escalate” strategy. The admiral has also apparently taken note of Moscow restarting its Tu-160 strategic nuclear-capable bombers program, which he called “an accomplishment not seen since the Cold War.” Beijing accused Washington last week of attempts to “contain and suppress” China and Russia, after the Biden administration had called China its “most consequential strategic competitor.” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin advised America against “establishing imaginary enemies, ignoring other countries’ legitimate security concerns, and stoking bloc confrontation” at that time also adding that any containment attempts would not succeed. https://www.rt.com/news/553358-us-china-nuclear-arsenal-threat/

plaindealer:Your comment shows the extent of your misinformation So Russian economy is not diversified? Russia exports agricultural products, precious metals, Diamond ,weapons e.t.c and of course oil, coal and gas and wine self Isn't Vodka a Russian product? So how is Russian economy oil dependent? They are the world's largest exporter of wheat and fertilizer... Do you think Russia is Nigeria? |
plaindealer:UK and the rest of EU will head back to the Stone age faster than Russia , cause it's obvious their Economies will soon enter recession once they ban Russian Energy completely, even Germany Chancellor has refused to do that cos he knows the implications... German and French industries can't survive without Russian energy ... Make your research and know peace .. Not everyone is a western zombie |
plaindealer:And how does Russia have less patronage? What's the population of Europe? You guys think the world resolves around Europe?, Even in Eu ,Slovakia has agreed to buy in rubes ,Hungary too and others.. Germany can't replace Russian gas , it's practically impossible and they are Eu most powerful country and number one economy. France too can't replace Russian gas as it's 35% of their natural gas supplies and now Russia new strategic partners China and India has 2+billion population combined... So how does this translates to low patronage? UK and Us combo combined was 11% which is insignificant.. Japan is still importing gas from Russia mind you .. And now what about the rest of Eu that's is spending 3times than they used to on Energy imports coupled with rising energy prices across Europe and even in the US |
